well it has been 95 degrees here with extremely high humidity. but I don't know how cold he keeps it etc but is running everything off electric. I can get propane for 1.99 a gallon so I think its a lot cheaper to run everything I can of that

we are in NE PA with similar temps and humidity... run everything off electric at .15 per kwh and have never used even 1000 kw in a month... run 2 AC's about 6 hrs and the rest of the time just the back one. Daytime settings are 75 on back and 80 on the front. Night setting on back only is 72... oh and use a toaster oven rather than gas oven for baking and the 40" TV is on most of every day! 2012 36FL</span>

What I have done is do a comparison to find out which is the best way to run things. I'll put everything on electric, take a meter reading, and take another two weeks later. Take how much I've used by what it is per kw and know what it cost me. I will than run everything on propane. Start with full tanks. Refill after 2weeks, and figure what it cost. You than know which is the best way to go. With the electric and propane prices different in different areas, and different weather, there is no set answer.

I read/photograph the meter every month, then when it's time to pay for the usage I can prove whether it's accurate or not. You are a pipeliner... price gouging is not uncommon... unfortunately!</span>

Sometimes it can be an honest mistake, sometimes intentional. I always kept up on my utilities, bills, etc. when we had the brick and mortar, why should things be different now.

rcflame, there is very little unintentional when it comes to pipeliner pricing... have you ever gone into a restaurant and been asked by the waitress holding 4 menus even tho there are only 2 of you at the table if you were a local/visitor/toursist or a pipeliner? ... there are 2 different menus with double the prices on the latter.

My take on the Electric vs Propane is this: There would have to be a fairly large difference to make it worthwhile to hassle refilling the propane tanks. By the time you factor in getting them out, into the TV and burning fuel to and from the Propane filling station I'm more than willing to pay a little extra if need be for the convenience of using Electric. That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it until proven wrong.

I've always found Jellystone campgrounds a bit pricey so I never stay in them.

If you are in the snow bird area, there is usually a propane service that comes through and fills your tank. Sometimes for the same price that it would cost you to go out and fill it, sometimes a few cents more. It seems like it is normal practice for some businesses to raise their price when a big event is in the area, and others that are just normally higher priced, like Jellystone, & KOA.A person just has to be cautious and avoid the rip offs, or suffer the consequences.
