Plugging into 110 keeps tripping breaker

I have attempted to plug in my RW into a 110 outlet to charge the batteries, but each time I tried to plug it in it tripped the breaker. I went through checking to ensure everything was off, but each time I plugged it in it trips the breaker. I am thinking that maybe it is the refrigerator that may be causing my problem. I initially was unable to find a way to turn of the frig, but just read of a possible way to do it. I will try this tomorrow and see if this will solve my problem.
Has anyone had this type of problem? If so, what solved it?
Thanks

What kind of frig do you have? Is your electric water heater on?

The frig is a residential. I did check the hot water heater, along with anything else I could think of that may be on.
Thanks

When I'm away from the camper for a week and I show up the only thing on is the converter and the refrigerator and I'm drawing 4 amps on only one leg.

Using an adaptor going from 50 amp plug to a 30 amp plug and then attaching a 110 plug adaptor to the 30 amp plug.

Just what I do and my 110 seems ok...
Maybe you have a weak breaker or something else is on ?
maybe a tv or your microwave ?

Do you have 2 or 3 batteries ? are they GOOD batteries ?
We have 3 in our 38gk and they are all good.

You can put the Samsung Res into demo mode by holding freezer and power freeze for about 3 seconds - toggle it to cooling mode by doing the same...

but don't think that is it, even if the fridge is on, my 110 circuit will handle it... because it's running off the 3rd battery.

good luck !

what is a 110 plug adaptor? do you mean the type that will plug into a regular receptacle? Turn off all breakers, not the main. Turn them on 1 breaker at a time to see what circuit is tripping you up.

Check the high loads, make sure both ACs are off, and the Hot water tank electric.

I was going to do the same thing for my rig while it was in storage. It was suggested here to use this,
http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...-adapter/72436 I got it the other day. It seems like it will work better than dragging out the heavy cord and two adapters. It seems like using all those steps was just a problem waiting to happen. I actually bought this one at Amazon for almost half the cost.

Guy is the electrical engineer on here......I think I'd follow his suggestions.

Make sure that both AC's are set to off, the fireplace is switched off and the water heater is off. The refrigerator should not pull enough current to trip a 15 Amp or 20 Amp circuit breaker. I run my 36RL on a 20 amp circuit all the time when I have it in storage in my pole barn. I have never had a problem unless one of those loads mentioned above was turned on.

If you are absolutely sure that you have the heavy loads turned off, I would suggest you try to connect to a different circuit breaker circuit, if possible. Circuit breakers do occasionally become weak and will disconnect at a lower than calibrated Amp level.

Guy

We actually had to run on 15 or 20 amp breakers a few times on our recent Alaska trip. Some of the areas we were in didn't have normal power, their power was supplied by their own Diesel Generators.

If the plug on the wall has the hot and neutral wire reversed, that will make the RV think it is a short. very easy to do when hooking up electric circuits and most appliances , lamps ect will work ok, but rv curcits just dont see it..the fix is to check polarity coming out of Breaker box.

Thanks

I would like to thank everyone that posted a response. I believe my problem was the GFI. I turned off my frig and plugged into a non GFI outlet and it works fine now.
