Onan 5.5 generator question

We’re considering having a onboard generator installed. Does anyone have any recommendations on having it installed? I’ve considered doing it myself but I would be more comfortable having it done professionally?

I did mine in the Redwood:
  • Redwood Generator Prep options makes it much easier. You can tell if you have it by the front cabinet housing a heat shield enclosure.
  • The prep provides a cut-out in the floor of the cabinet that needs completely removed (2 parts, don't do part - required for airflow)
  • Generator prep remote start just plugs into gen connector
  • Battery start cables need routed to the batteries.
  • 2 output 120VAC circuits from generator go to the Transfer Switch.
  • I had to have an LP line fabricated an an LP shop and "T"d off under regulator.
  • Exhaust - toughest part. You can buy a kit or have it fabricated.

It's heavy! 290 lbs. Get help
