I took at quick look at the RD at Hershey. I love the dining nook! And I love whatever the blue/brown fabric option is. That being said, I'm not sure it's a floor plan I would go for. The storage seems to be reduced and I don't like having more slides that can break. As a few people said, it's all about trade offs and I'm not sure I want more length and an arch for less storage. But to each his own. I give Redwood kudos for being bold in trying a new design.

At the show, they were advertising "life-time warranty," in big signs everywhere. I was trying to figure out what that's about. I believe it's a dealer-provided option that requires an annual inspection and fee, maybe like an extended warranty. I'm pretty sure Redwood isn't flat out offering a lifetime warranty since they did away with the additional 5 year. And this might have well been a show-only special.

Yep, the lifetime warranty is only available at select dealers and requires inspections to comply with the warranty terms.
I guess it is a good warranty as long as the company providing it stays in business

It's the latest craze - I hear the ads from the Dealers here in Denver, and see the billboard signs in Albuquerque.

They must have all those Loopholes Redwood had for the 5 year so they actually never have to pay out on anything

We were looking at Stoltfus RV in West Chester when we were close to our decision.. They are the folks at Hershey and they are offering a lifetime warranty on all the appliances , basically anything powered by electric they said.It a 100% dealer offered option..BUT their pricing was about $15,000.00-$20,000.00 higher including my trade then all the folks not offering it. There were exclusions , but we did not get into it .. I'll take my chances without it..

The Ford dealer I was looking at in Vernon TX advertised a "Lifetime Warranty" on the new Ford trucks (this was in summer of 2014), but never investigated the terms and conditions as we couldn't come together on price. Then went to Woodhouse for our truck.

Being we are full time I would much rather buy the part and either install myself or get someone to do it. If it is something that can wait I will go through warrenty. In the long run it will cost you more in time and inconvenience than the repair is worth. Major items are another story.most of us are 200 miles or more from the nearest dealer and it is not convenient to pack up and take it in for repairs. In this day and age with the technology we have there is no reason pictures of the broken part can not be sent so the owner can install. I have replaced numerous items out of my own pocket because of the Hassel with warranty. I realize there are a lot of people without the mechanical aptitude to do their own repairs or are on limited incomes to pay for warranty items out of their own pockets. Redwood and the rest of the RV industry needs to get off their ass and come up with a viable solution to this problem. No matter the price you pay for anything, things break or do not work as intended

Don't worry about the warranty because they can always come up with a reason to deny it or wait a few years and change it. I think they'd win more people over by supplying parts so problems could be resolved.

They need banners like "Buy from us.......we've got parts on hand and we'll overnight them when needed"

The dealer we bought from in Corpus Christi had the lifetime warranty on anything they sold, but I've not been there since we bought the RW.
Dave, I agree 100%.

Maybe we should just all apply to be Redwood Dealers, then the parts could come direct to us. We could even warranty ourselves!

I am happy to see that Redwood moved the side aisle into the bedroom area to the right side of the coach. I hope this means one does not have to open the bedroom slides to be able to access the bed at night. That is probably the biggest complaint I have with my 36RL - cannot access the bedroom without having to open the slide out. I also like the idea of having a full flat roof - maybe Redwood will now start offering 3 A/C's w/ heat pumps as a standard feature?! Without seeing the new rear living/den floor plan in person I will reserve my opinions but from the photos, it has sure sparked my interest.....

Enroute, I don't understand. We had an RL and used the Bathroom all the time while on the road and didn't put the slide out, granted it was a little tight, but neither of us are what you would call tiny. Once in the bathroom the bedroom was also accessable.
We would not buy a unit that you couldn't get to the bathroom/bedroom and at least half the fridge.

We used our RL all the time while traveling without a problem. That was one of the selling points of that floor plan for us.

Exactly what we looked for when we bought our Redwood. Access to right side of refer, bathroom and bedroom without opening slide outs if we didn't need to. We had the same access on our previous SOB, which was a 2008 Crossroads 36SB, which we lost in our house fire during November of 2013.

I'm guessing that Enroute has the same issue I have. My wife can get into the bathroom with the slide closed. Us bigger people can not.

That's why we liked the FL. We can get to most everything in the front door and going in the second door goes straight to the bathroom. The only thing we can't do is get in the rear bedroom without opening the slide some, but that hasn't been a problem so far. With the living room up front and the bedroom in the back she just has to try and throw things farther to hit me!

I agree, the good thing is Debra's aim is not very good either.

Now the new 39FL we saw at the Factory during the Rally does not have the rear door anymore.
Now you cannot get to the bathroom without opening the kitchen slide to get access to the bathroom.

When we saw that at the Factory, told our Guide that would be a real Deal Breaker for some.

Yep, even though we rarely use it, we also like the rear door as a alternate means of escape if their is a fire.
