Need help, especially 36FB owners

Our Fireplace suddenly stopped working on our 2013 36FB. Removed fireplace and tested it in another outlet and it works fine. Testing the outlet reveals an open neutral. Replaced outlet with same outcome. With the circuit breaker off, I tested every single outlet I could find to see if the problem may be upstream from the one I tested. Every one of them tested ok.

Called Redwood to ask if there were any other outlets on the same circuit and if there was a second GFCI outlet as I could not find one other than the one in the bathroom. A return message said they could not find the wiring schematic (that is not comforting) and the second GFCI was on the end of the Island.

Nope, I don't have one on the Island and still can only find the one in the bathroom. There are several in the basement and outside that say GFCI enabled (or something like that). So to the question, do any of you FB owners know where a second GFCI outlet may be?

Thanks for any assistance.

Gary

Gary, we don't own a 36FB model. Ours is a 36RL. The fireplace is not going to be on a GFCI protected circuit. It will be on it's own 15 amp breaker. I am not familiar with the FB floor plan. Do check to see that the wiring in the junction box is good, as well as under the slide out to see if the wiring is good under the floor. Someone else with a Redwood had their wiring get caught in the mechanism for the slide out room inside the floor. Took quite a bit to fix theirs. Hope yours is not that way.

I would also remove the breaker and check the wire connection. I had more then half of my breakers were I could pull the wire out with my fingers. Guess there are no electrical inspections or codes to follow in RV's.
As a builder if I had loose wires in a house I would be out of business quick.

We had a similar trouble with the kitchen slide receptacles and traced the trouble to a splicing connector at the rear of the coach. The driver's side rear slide has three circuits coming from the power panel:

1. microwave
2. electric fireplace
3. entertainment center, pantry, outlet by range, and refrigerator and ice maker.

Take a look at this post for more information. Ours is a 36RL, but think your coach's layout in the fireplace area is very similar.

If you lost neutral, I would also pull check all of the neutral bar in the panel. If it's truly a dedicated circuit, which it was on our 36RL, then the open may be on that bar.

Good suggestions. Will investigate all of them. Have another Gremlin to attack first. Will let you know what I find. Thanks All.
