Has anyone put a small motorcycle or scooter on the back of their RW using a hitch-mount carrier? If so, were there any problems or concerns? We are considering a small Yamaha that weighs about 290# for basic transportation and a little fun in the dirt.

I haven't done it yet but I'm considering a double carrier for a couple of old Honda Ct110 that I have. I too would be interested in any results others have had. I would think that we'd have to carry some extra water to help overcome the extra weight in the back.

We tow a 2012 Honda trike on a trailer behind our 2011 36RL. The bike is about 1000lbs and there is about 175lbs tongue weight on the hitch. We have towed it a few 10000 miles with no problem.

I too have considerdputtinga small motorcycle on the back BUT you would need at least a 6" extension and with the extension the 300 lblimit I thinkwould be dropped to some where around 200 lbs.
Looking at the hitch I would think it could handle 500 lbs but I my opinion I think Redwood put a low limit so that everybody don't load it up
just my thoughts

The factory stated maximum limits on the hitch are 300 lbs hitch weight and 3000 lbs trailer weight.
