Model of 2015 Appliances

Hi -

I'm still trying to work out my power requirements for my new 38FL and can't find specifics on the appliances that Redwood is using in the 2015 units.

Can anyone tell me what the exact make/model #s are for the:

Dual A/C with heat pump option
Norcold 12cf Fridge. Would like to confirm if it is 2 way or 3 way?
Fisher/Paykel dishwasher
Model sound system and TVs

Also, can anyone identify the type/capacity of the house battery, inverters (if any) and chargers that came with their 2015 units.

Thanks in advance, this will be really helpful.

Regards,
Ken

Understand these change without notice - Hopefully this helps a bit from our 36RL 2014

Norcold 12101M. (2-way LP/AC). You won't find 3-way in a trailer much, only a MH.

Convection oven - Frigidaire CFMV152CLBA

Fisher & Paykel - DD24SCB7

Fireplace - Dimplex NBDF2608 E

AC/Heat pump - Airxcel - 48004-969 (both)

DVD Home theater Wi-Fi LG BH6720S

40" TV Toshiba 40EE20U

26" TV Magnavox - 2GMF301B/F7 (both)

Converter - Progressive Dynamics PDF4590K18L 90A

Factory battery replace with 2 27 Series deep cycle 675 MCA / 550 CCF / 105 Ah@20 Hr rate.

Well it may be hard to know for sure without contacting the factory to see if they have changed anything. RV company's change appliances all the time. What I can do for you is tell you what came in my 38RL produced 11/13. First off I have the residential package so I have an inverter you do not if you have a Norcold fridge.

The TV's are in order outside tv, living room tv, bedroom TV's all LG's LED.

32LN530B
42LN5300
39LN5300

I'm not at home right now but I know the Ac's are Coleman Mac 15k's.

The dishwasher is Fisher/Paykel model # DD24SCB7

Not sure what battery's it will come with or the converter.

LG sound system model #BH67205

I think most of your appliances have the same power for the same size. As far as the 3 way fridge, can't say for sure, but I haven't seen one in years. They're just too big to run directly off the battery.

What kind of convection oven/micro is it in the 2014/15 RL38 in the Residential Appliances packages? Samsung or frigidaire?

Ok any number for the Frigidaire? Is it easy to replace it for another one?

It's just your standard over the range microwave/convection. Mounts and it powered exactly like a home unit.

Ok, and it does have a fan inside that evacuates the smoke from the stove outside of the RV? Not sure read somewhere on one forum that there was some kind of cap/blocking so the air was not getting outside - not sure.

Yes - it serves as the hood for the range below. Pretty standard.

Basil, you may be referring to the vent to the outside wall that may or may not 'flap' open because it is slightly misaligned with the opening.... that is something to check on all ours if you use the convection feature...
(I haven't because my wife says all the kitchen 'stuff' is decorative only )

but for comparison - our July 13 built 38gk has:

Res Pkg:
Convection oven - Frigidaire CFMV154CLSA
SS Refrigerator - Samsung RF217ACPN

Fireplace - Dimplex NBDF2608

AC/Heat pump - Airxcel - 48004-969 and 480254C969

DVD Home theater 3D LG BH6930S

55" TV LG 55LN5400

26" TV Magnavox - 26MF301B

Great thanks a lot for your help! I am not really used to all the US-standrads but understand that the microwave oven has a built in convection oven AND a fan for evacuating air when frying.

Basil - didn't even think that you might not be from here when I said "pretty standard" - sorry Yes to what you said above, and it also serves as the undercounter light for the range so it has some 110V light(s) in the bottom as well.

I would assume the spec power draw would include the maximum draw, which to me would seem like the oven, undercounter fan and light. I'm not sure if the microwave mode draws the most power, or the convection mode, or if maybe they can operate on both.

As you can tell, I warmed some coffee in it once, and stored some tomatoes in there and that's about it!

Aha ok I see. I LOVE to cook so I am for sure going to use it! Decided to go with the stove without oven to get the extra drawers, maybe not so wise! But again, I am used to small spaces so this will still be great!

we debated the oven - because the drawers looked sexy like a MH, but DW is absolutely magic in the kitchen and she prefers the oven in addition to the convection, so we got it.

My wife also likes to cook. I do my part because I like to eat .

We also decided to go with the extra draws instead of the oven, might regret it have to see, but I don't think so. Our experience in the past with the propane ovens has been they are good for small things but that is about it. We hope the convection oven will meet our needs and in fact work better. Only down side is that it requires 110 power, either from shore power, the generator or an inverter.

Since you do like to cook like her I'll throw out a couple of other things you might be interested in. We've been experimenting with them here at home before we leave with the camper and so far have been very pleased.

First I can't say enough for an induction cook top. We got the Burton from Amazon to take with. We think it will have a lot of benefits both to compliment and use along side the standard gas range.
  • We have found in other campers the propane stove can take a long time to do things like boil a large pot of water for paste. This works very fast.
  • When cooking the gas stove top can add a lot of heat to the camper, since the heat transfers directly to the pot or pan very little extra is thrown off.
  • It can be used outside as a side burner next to the bbq.
  • When connected to shore power, or have other 110 power source, it saves propane not having to use the gas cook top.
  • When used with a cast iron pan it is a great way to quickly sear meat or brown things when they come out of the Sous Vide (see below)

I'm sure there are other benefits, but I think you get the idea.

Another small add on item we've gotten is to cook things Sous vide style. This is fantastic for cooking things "low and slow" like you would braise something in a normal oven. Up to now we've only found ones that are many hundreds of dollars and take up a lot of space. The one we got is something new and can be used with any pot and only costs $199. It's called Sansaire. We also found some excellent recipes at another SousVide site.

Yes we love the outdoors, love to travel but also like our creature comforts and good food.

Hope this helps.

We opted to go without the oven. Had it and a convection oven in our previous unit and couldn't remember the last time we had used the oven so went without it this time. Also have the induction hot plate. Very seldom use the gas burners at all. Between the convection, induction and crock pot, don't use much for gas appliances.

We have used the convection for just about everything, like some others hardly, if ever used the gas oven, so we took the drawers. Have also bought the Induction cook top, so our propane consumption is limited to the Fridge when traveling, or if we need to run the Genny.
