Main Door fix?

Hello,
We bought a 2015 36RL and found that the main door is contacting the rain trim at the top left. I questioned the last owner and he said it always needed to be shut hard to close. It is damaging the paint. the door itself seems to be binding, it will not swing on its own. Is this normal? Should I attempt to fix it or call in for warranty work?
Thanks
Cliff

Most likely you should start by calling RW for warranty work. It may take some time but stay on it.
We have a 14FL and both doors were doing the same. Only solution for mine was to completely replace both. Both were installed wrong from day one and only got worse.RW did this at the service center but management has changed so not sure where they would want you to go.
Whatever they tell you on the phone about repairing it I don't think anything would fix it except replacing it.

Unless you paid to transfer the warranty Or have an extended warranty, you don't have warranty for second owners from RW/Crossroads.

We had ours replaced twice once because the door separated because of the Friction Hinges and once because they installed it incorrectly the first time. Now I keep it well lubricated so that the friction hinge does not bind as much so far so good been two years since it was replaced and no issues so far.

WE do have an extended warranty. I will contact them and see if they will step up. I can't even imagine what it will cost with paint. I guess its called pay as you learn.

I believe all my contact emails are now obsolete since management change. I'll take a look but just have to start with the service center #. Either RW / Keystone / Crossroads / Thor or whatever we are called these days.

RW tech. told me it costs them about $2,800 - $3,000 per door with paint. installed

You may want to check your warranty paperwork to see if the door is covered. Something tells me it is not.

Our door is having exactly the same problem. I called our dealer this morning and listed this as one of the problems that we're having. Hopefully our warranty will cover the fix.

I would recommend replacement of the hinges. What I have found is that the hinges bind up due to a lack of lube. Once they start binding I doubt it can be turned around. New hinges shipped to CA were $116.00.
What ever you do get it fixed right away. The binding will cause damage to the door at the attachment point.
Regards,

I ordered new hinges. They should arrive soon. Good thing I thought to check why the door was hard to close.. the hinge binding was destroying the door. Cought it in time now I just need to change the hinges. Oh yea, and keep them properly lubed.

I ordered the hinges from Lippert cost was $110.00 with shipping. I changed them out and the door works like new. Make sure you keep them lubed up.
