I had it done to my old SOB. I did notice it being a little heavier than before but it is what they said it can do. But our other trailer was up in age and it was rime to go bigger for us. But the new owner of ours should be pleased not to worry about that part of our old trailer.

Do you currently have damage or is it preventive?

Prevention, we are on the road 3 week out of a month and rather never have to worry about caulking. They are in Florida going to east Texas for a RV there. I'm in between so he will do mine on the way back. Said it would be just over 100 pounds heavier.

Sounds like this is something that all manufacturers should do...would probably solve many headaches!

They are doing my roof on August 19th and 20th at my home in Baton Rouge. No more caulking ever.

What if for some reason you need to remove/replace something on your roof like a vent, fan, a/c unit?

He will come back out or you can go to one of the dealers.

I've often wondered if this rubberized spray can stuff that's fairly new to the market would solve all leaks around our roof fixtures. I would definitely try it if my warranty was expired and I had a leak. Another thought is to use "eternabond tape" and then seal it with the can rubberized spray. Anyone ever tried this?

I have been in construction for many years and in my mind if you do not bond to a clean solid, secure base you are putting armor on a tent. It still will be able to be gouged and punctured by branches and pick up because it is not going directly on a fixed base. Just a thought.

I never even thought of the roof accessories - so the line-X eliminates the need for lap sealant?

I agree, it's the first thing they taught us in marine coatings - every job is 75% preparation to attain a clean, solid substrate and 25% application. Without the prep you don't get adequate bonding.

That is what the lifetime warranty is for.

Buddy, when I read up on that lifetime roof, I seem to remember reading about an annual inspection that had to be accomplished and I think it had to be done by a certified dealer. Do you remember anything like that? I'm wondering if it would be as difficult as getting an annual Redwood inspection and at what cost?

The Alpha roof isn't working for me. I have this warranty with these people doing the roof and with Good Sams. I don't trust any dealer for Redwood. We decided to handle our maintenance ourselves. Freedom.

The roof guy spends two days on it. The first is prep work with a gray bonding coat. The second is a white finished coat that has a warranty against hail, ect.

So with the RV Armor, do they also do anything to the slide roofs? Also what about paint, the sides of my roof are painted black.

Just curious.

I already have that white stuff on top of the slides and toppers on all three. No need. It is white from side to side. Cap to cap. Watch the video, it shows all they do. I will keep you'll posted. We are out camping two weeks then home for two weeks for now. I carry my pole pruner to clip any limbs that are problems. lol

That's funny, I carry my pole pruner with me. I just can't believe that these campgrounds can't see when their trees need to be pruned!

Why would they when they have us to do it for them! It's like workcamping without the benefits...
