Lesson Learned! Lock Compartments

Someone removed water line from city water connection and moved it to the flush connection! Fortunately, they did not get the water turned on at the outlet properly. One of those up/down handles that must be pulled completely up before water is dispensed.

Amazing, why would someone do that? Did they want to use your hose and then didn't know where to connect it back?

Maybe a senior moment and you did it and forgot to put it back.

I've blamed my wife for things I said she did to the rig only to have her yell back you did it you idiot. Then I think for a minute and she was right I did it.

The first thing I did... when we got it back after it`s 4 month stay (at the repair facility)...

was swap out all the locks... with unique lock sets... so the standard 751 and 88 combo factory key sets would no longer work... (locks are for honest folk) fyi.. lock added to the dump vavle compartment... if there are a few teenagers hanging close to the dump station on a Sunday morning... u know a few black tank valves got pulled during the Saturday night escapades.... nothing says bon voyage like getting sprayed with.... Grrrrr....

Not a senior moment. I have been hooked up for 6 days with no problems. No question someone knew what they were doing.

That sucks! My Dad had a park model that somebody stuck a hose through the window and turned it on, he thinks because he didn't vote the way they wanted on the board regarding location of a new sewer, which would have been out his back window.

Parked at Cleveland County Fairgrounds, Norman, Ok. Not our normal parking surroundings but it is close to our doctors. Back for 30 days for annual doctors appointments. Back on the road 6/15 for an 11 month stretch.

In our almost 40 years of camping including 14 years of full timing, this is unusual. We had a bag chair stolen once and that is the only thing I can think of that has happened to us. Maybe I should knock on wood.

Never thought of this. I guess I give people credit not deserved and it would be easy with mine. I've installed a 'y' connector and dual ball valves so all I have to do is turn a valve to flush my tank.

Ichabod123, just a word of caution doing that. A friend was doing that with their small Class C and ended up with an overflowing Black tank because the ball valve on the "Y" didn't close completely.
I have the same set-up, but disconnect the hose from the Flusher port (I have quick disconnects). Only takes a second to connect the hose, then turn it on.

I also like the idea of quick connects so the last time out I used quick connects in the convenience center then I though "what if quick connect pops off and I flood my storage?" To solve that problem I am making 2-3 foot hoses with a quick connect that will hook up under the convenience center outside of the coach. Then if it disconnects it won' flood the coach. I have always hated trying to connect the hoses in the convenience center without the connections leaking. I will use 90's on the coach connections and once sealed I will leave them connected then the short hoses will be connected permanent and when I travel the short hose will be pulled through the floor hole and just ride in the compartment. When I get to new destination, push short hoses through bottom of convenience center and quick connect water hoses....done.

I know that area well, it has a few suspicious looking folks living pretty close in for sure. I think you're far enough away from the hospital where it probably wasn't those folks at least. They are the ones I'd worry about staying there.

Have you considered staying at the casino just south of the river? If I stay in Norman with our RV I'll probably stay there.

I like the casino but dry camping only. There are no hookups and we are going to be here for 30 days.

Gotcha, did not know that. That is definitely different. Maybe Lake Thunderbird? Although that's a drive. We've stayed at the Roadrunner RV Park just north of Moore and it was nice enough. Although that area is really some sort of tornado magnet so this time of year I'd rethink it.

Rick, that's exactly what I have. A 4' connected in the convenience center on a 90 degree elbow that stays connected, quick disconnect on the end that connects to a sediment filter then what ever hose required to connect to the park water.
I also have the quick disconnect on the Black Flusher, but don't keep a hose connected there.

Great minds think alike. For years I have fought those connections to the coach and it always seemed like I always had a leak. With a convenience center you don't want any leak at all so this solution will work. I am also going to have an RV softwater tank that I will quick connect to, and then from there to a whole house filter. Both the softwater tank and the filter will be contained in a plastic box that can easily be moved to the storage belly when I travel. They will stay connected to each other but will have quick connects for the water hoses.
