keeping furniture in place.

I have a 36RE that comes with an ottoman which, when the slides are closed, keeps the furniture in place. Some of the other floor plans don't have the ottoman (31SL, 36FB, 38RE, etc.) don't come with an ottoman to hold things in place. Are the couch and recliners held in place by straps, or just sit there? If they are strapped in place for travel, how are they attached? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks.

My ( SOB) fifth wheel had a strap that had to be placed over the chairs to keep them in place , I assume that is because they were swivel/rocker/recliners... On our 38RL , the chairs just sit there .. our almost 3,000 mile break in trip and they were in the same spot when we got home as when we left . .

No straps & very little no movement in almost 3 years of travel. We only have carpet on the recliner slide & the couch doesn't move & we don't have to flip up the cushions.

Nothing really moves in our 36RE.

We don't have the Ottoman. Our stuff is probably heavier than yours. 2 recliners and sofa bed. However our dinette chairs don't move.

Thanks Mark. We have the sofa bed and two recliners as well. Sounds like its no worry, as our dinette chars stay in place too.

On our 31SL we added an ottoman and we place it on top of the couch when we travel. The couch and the recliners don't move. The dinette chairs moved, I bought the big rubber bands that the movers use and one 4' band straps the four chairs and table together. Problem solved for us.

After 3 fivers now, nothing has ever moved. I don't even put the coffee maker away. Sits right on the counter. Living room recliners never go anywhere. Maybe on carpet helps that too. I guess I would think a Redwood might only ride better yet.

I find the sofa bed on our 36RL moves around quite a bit. I stopped the backward movement by putting a 2X4 on edge at the rear wall so the sofa doesn't hit the window trim or window openers. It still moves sideways So i plan to put blocks at the side and front of the front legs to prevent the sideways/front movement.

There is some movement of the recliners but not enough to be a concern.

Really? I nearly pull my back out trying to move or recliners so as to vacuum. Sofa has never budged. But you said "sofa bed." If that's different from the air mattress version, perhaps it's lighter?

We have had the sofa with the storage drawer, no bed, in both our 36RL and this 39MB and we have had it move along with the recliners. But then again most of our travels have been in out of the way places, like The Yukon, Alaska, and Newfound/Labrador.

Wow! This just amazes me. Vaughan has tried to move our sofa and it won't budge. When you say yours moves (or anyone who has had furniture move), how much movement are you talking about?

I was thinking that maybe with the slides in, the sofa couldn't move, but you've had the RL also, right?

We do have things come off the counter and, of course, there was the infamous wine dump. But I don't even think the dining room chairs have moved in our rig.

The sofa bed that came with our RW has a (thin) mattress, not an air mattress. In terms of movement it can be a few inches. I check for forward movement each time we stop by partially opening the slides then I go back to check, that way I wont pull the trim off the slide edge. I'm going to anchor the sofa bed before we head down south for the winter.

It hasn't been much movement, generally not over an inch, but as I said these were not normal roads. I hate to think how much movement we would of had without the Mor/ryde IS.

Our sofa-bed was close to the rear window , I played heck moving it away from the rear wall just a small bit.. I don't see how it will ever move by itself...

We have the non-bed Sofa, and I've had to move it to replace the window hardware in the back. I don't think it has moved in travel, but the cushions however, do move and I always have to check to make sure I haven't caught them in the slides when opening up.

We just bounced over 620 miles about 100 of it was rough. Our end table fell over between the recliners and 1 recliner moved out about 6 inches everything else sofa doors etc rode very well
