jacks

What would anyone recommend for jacking up your Redwood to fix a flat? What type of Jack? I know I could call Good Sams or AAA, but sometime I might need to change the tire myself. What type of Jack do I need.

Thanks for the ears.....

the factory representative told us that we could use the hydraulic landing legs to do that.

Agree with using the hydraulic jacks on the coach.

just lift even with all jacks to limit twisting - not taht you can eliminate all of it... but why not

Put 5 leveling plates under the rear jacks and use the hydraulic jacks. They are rated to raise 46,000 lbs.

So whats the correct answer use all the jacks and lift the entire rig or just the back jacks.
If you use just the back jacks which jacks would you lift against, the mid jacks down or the front jacks down or both sets down and lift from the rear?

Raise the entire rig with leveling plates under the rear jacks.

I have used the trailers hydraulic system to lift the trailer and change the tires. They used to say that you could do it, but than quit. Theories are that the legal eagles put a stop to it. I also use it to lift the trailer when I lube the axles. Have done it several times and haven't had any problems.

Raising the trailer so both tires are elevated from the roadway, requires a high lift. Instead, raise the trailer enough to get the majority of the weight off the flat tire. Then raise the axle that has the flat tire, with a bottle jack to a point that the tire clears the roadway. Be sure to loosen the lug nuts while the tire is immobile.

The level-up system is rated to easily lift the tires off the ground. I have used it several times to change tires and lube axles. It does it easily with no flexing of the jacks or anything else.

Hello, we are the gables and we have a 2011 36RL REDWOOD. We are not able to get some of our jacks up so we can move it. Anybody else have this problem and if so, how did you fix it? Help

There is a 10amp inline fuse located in the battery compartment on the right hand wall about half way up on the wiring harness. It's in the back of the wiring, so you're going to need to feel for it. Redwood put out a Technical Service Bulettin (TSB) to fix it. Search this site and Redwoods forum for a complete description of the TSB with pictures and instructions. In the interim, just replace the fuse. Good luck. Vic
