When we bought our Redwood the dealer replaced all the halogen bulbs with LED's except for the fixture in the shower and the bulbs in the fixture over the island. The halogen bulb in the shower failed after a year in service, I replaced it with an LED and I bought a spare LED bulb, just in case. And, I have never heard the fan in the convertor running!

I'm sure there is a big difference - even with two 27 series batteries, if we have the living room, kitchen and bedroom halogen lights on loading our rig for more than about 5 hours, the batteries are so low the fridge will shut down.

Just to chime in a little..and this apparently is unusual, but we replaced every one of the OEM Halogen bulbs all due to failure within the first 12 months. The "backhand" technique worked only for a while. Since ordering better quality bulbs, I think I've replaced one - so in my mind not a housing/connection issue. In the big picture not a major issue but a little frustrating at the time. Will be switching to LEDs eventually mostly to cut down on heat during summer.

I had halogen lights go out that could be revived by tapping the lens. I took one out and bent one of the pins slightly and it worked fine after that. In my case, it was either the bulb or the socket the bulb plugged into that was the cause of failure.

We have 7 that keep going out on our 2014 36RL. It's been a constant issue even when we aren't traveling. When hubby pulls cover off, he suspects a wiring issue underneath the fixture. Traveling tomorrow to our winter destination, so after he does a thorough check there, I will keep you posted!

I bought mine from http://www.m4products.com/ They were less expensive than CW, and the folks there are very helpful. Look under the pin base LEDs and the equivalent wattage is listed. We bought warm LEDs, and are replacing the halogen bulbs as they burn out. There is no noticeable differenece in the light color.

I've replaced most of mine with M4 products. I'm very happy with their products. The warm whites are nearly identical.

Buddy:
I used M4 also and here is the part numbers to order:

To replace the ceiling lamps: G4-18-5050-SIDE-WW (Warm White replaces 20W Halogen)
To replace under cabinets: G4-12-5050-SIDE-WW (Warm White replaces 10W Halogen)
I replaced all my lamps at once with these and found that they are almost the exact color of the original halogens.

We found that the halogen lights started working intermitently after about the first month. We full time, so lights are important.
We finally determined that the sockets heat up during operation and squeezed the little metal contacts on the bulb and caused a poor connection.
While the bulb is cool, remove it and slip your fingernail under the bent contact to bend it slightly away from the glass bulb. Be gentle on the distance you bend the wire or you'll break the socket when you try to insert the bulb.
This should fix the connection problem for a month or two.
Ultimately, we ended up replacing all halogen lights with LED and have had no additional problems.
We get the bulbs from Amazon at $19 for a 10 pack.
BTW, if you have a rear "trunk" with a halogen light fixture, the power switch can get turned on while loading goodies or when stuff bounces around. The lamp get super hot and can start a fire (as ours did). That lamp should be replaced with LED as soon as you can. To prevent a possible overheat situation, pull the bulb.

On Amazon, do a search on Cutequeen.
Cutequeen LED car lite. 10 pack, white, T15, 42-SMD...about 19 bucks.
I ordered two packs, replaced every lamp in the trailer except the ones over the island, dining table and sconces. We opted for some a little less bright for the sconces and the other two fixtures use the push and twist type of base. So far those have cost about $20 per fixture.
Keep in mind that the lights on the ceiling are all LED's from the factory. We have had two fail already and RW is shipping replacements to correct the issue as I write this.
Hope this helps.
