put downpayment on a 2014 RW36RL with residential package. How does the Samsung refrigerator keep it all cool while rolling down the road?

my salesman tells me it is a converter and the fridge runs on 120 volt and 12 volt. I looked on the samsung page and nowhere does it say anything about 12 volts. whom should I check with? Anyone out there have a residential package with a samsung 217ACPN?

I would say that he is close. I think it runs off of 120v only. While going down the road, an inverter, not a converter, changes the 12 volt to 120 volt for the fridge. Most don't know the difference between an inverter and a converter.

It will also change the design of the island. I got a 31sl ordered and didn't go with residential due it shortening the island.

I believe when I asked at the plant, that it's a 2000 Watt 12VDC to 120VAC inverter, plus some heavy duty batteries.

Yes - we ordered the res pkg and it's an inverter with some strong batteries (ideally)... and that keeps the fridge going between stops...

While I will probably look into a solar charger to add to it...

Just like your fridge at home when the power goes out, as long as you have cold 'stuff' in it and limit the opening, it will stay cold for a long time even without power...

(that's my hope anyway !) will know the week of the 26th !!!

MY 2014 RW36RL arrived at LazyDays a week ago monday. We are cutting our vacation short to get the associated paper work so we can get rolling by the end of the month. bought the truck already sprayon bed liner installed annd the hitch installed. Next step the rv. does anyone have a PDI checklist that they can email me. I have been hearing some horror stories about dealerships not going over everything. I hope Lazydays steps up to the plate. I have a friend who bought a Dutchman Infinity last year and he is stuck in Ma. with landing gear that wont retract. I will make sure they show me how to retract them and the slideouts manually before it rolls off the lot.

We bought our 36fl almost 2 months from Lazy Days. They like to go over everything real fast. As long as we were there, they were great, but after you leave, they don't seem to care. Last week I finally got warrant parts shipped to my house from 2 months ago. I left a message with our sales lady and when she finally replied back..she said she only sales and doesn't handle warranties. She never even asked if we like the unit or if there was anything else she could do for us. I have a list that I am putting together for the general manager. Make sure they have the correct batteries as mine came with the ship battery from the factory and I already had to replace it. They haven't responded to me about that yet.

How do you know if it is a ship battery vs. the correct battery? What battery is it supposed to have?

The ship battery is most likely a low amp hr cheap battery. At the least you should have something like two identical group 27 deep cycle batteries.

I guess I'll have to check the battery. I know for sure that I only have one battery and I'm fine with that. I don't ever Boondock so I se no need for two batteries. Am I wrong for thinking that?

Yes, I think you are. There will be instances, even if you don't boondock, where you will want two batteries.

Campgrounds lose power just like when you are in a brick and mortar. It's nice to have the extra battery power too run lights, awnings, and your 12v appliances including the furnace if necessary.

If you stop in route it's nice to be able to run the slides out and use other 12v. if you want to.

We have had instances where we have been unable to find a campsite with 120v power in the area where we want to stop for the night. Have had to call a Walmart or truck stop our overnight spot. Nice to have the extra power of two batteries.

I believe they come with two battery boxes. The dealer should put two batteries in.

Did yours come with 2 batteries? We were told when we picked ours up that even though the unit came with two battery boxes we only get one battery. I'd like to hear from others to see how many batteries came with their unit.

We noticed right away that even when loading the fridge with a couple of lights on, the "ship" battery couldn't keep up and we would get a fail on the fridge. We replaced that battery with 2 29 series before our first trip.

Two batteries were specified on our sales agreement and were supplied by the dealer.

Ours came with two batteries. If it wasn't necessary, they wouldn't put in two battery boxes. I think your dealer is trying to cheap out. Getting just 1 ship battery is like getting a unit set up for two propane tanks, but getting only 1 empty tank.
