Ice maker supply

After the second leak in the supply line, I decided to replace it with a woven stainless line. Disconnected it at the valve under the sink and fed it behind the island drawers. Removed the drawer, attached a messenger line and fed the end down below the floor level. When I went outside and pulled the supply line out, the messenger line had come off, so I have nothing to pull a new supply line through the belly and up into the island. Any ideas??? I know I can just go old school and use ice trays, but I would really like to repair it.

I am guessing but you will have to drop the coroplast and find where it comes out under the sink an then run the line to the fridge

Agree, drop the underbelly and you'll find the new line then feed it through. You might also consider split foam pipe insulator between the frame and the slide to help keep it from freezing in cold temperatures.

Thanks to you both. I left the messenger line where it was. I should be able to find it. Just not sure at what point it came loose from the supply line.

We replaced our about 2 months ago and it dropped straight down from the island. Then you can run it where it exits the frame. As Iceman suggested placing the insulation on the line at the time of placement is much easier than doing it after the fact. Put some spray foam where the line enters the floors will help prevent insects getting into the camper also.

Without heat, insulating the line is mostly a feel good thing. The cold temps will go through to the line and still freeze it. It will only hold what little warmth is in the water to start.

I understand. The trick would be to get the end of the new supply line from the point where it is fed below the island (easy part) across half the RV to the little hole where it would exit the frame (hard part) unless I can remove the plastic underbelly material. Without doing that, the process would be similar to pushing a rope up in the air.

Has anyone tried heat tape on the line?

Nope
If I need heat tape I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time of the year

That was our plan when we retired, as soon as we saw a sign stating"bridges may ice" we knew we'd went too far north, except now they have that even in the south.

We arrived in West Yellowstone at the end of April and saw many nights and a few days below freezing. We haven't had a frozen line yet, but I do use a heated water hose attached to the RW. I have far more confidence in the braided line with insulation than the the cheap plastic residential line. So far so good!
