I wish the diagram was wrong on my model!!

It's funny, because someone posted on here the diagram for the 31SL and it shows the kitchen sink goes into one and the shower into the other but mine has everything except the bathroom sink going into the galley. I'm not sure the folks putting these together are actually shown the diagrams. I don't even see consistency on any one model. I can make it work with the extra valve.

It looks like the external valve will work by equalizing the level allowing use of both tanks.

When you have installed the extra valve just make sure you close the individual grey tank v/v's before dumping the black.

It's a great solution to the problem, had it from day 1.

I realize that this is an old post, but you just helped me out. We are on our first outing in our 36FL and I was struggling with the gray water situation. I have ordered the twist on waste valve and look forward to being able to utilize the 90 gallon capacity of gray water. Thanks for your help.

Start a new thread and you might get your answer. I didn't have a FL so I'm not sure and I don't want to lead you down the wrong path. I had a RL and on that model I did adapt it to use all 90 gallons.

There's some real good people on this forum that should be able to help you

Here nor there, but the valve they are talking about sure helps. I use it because I had one but haven't used it to pair the tanks yet. Hardest part if remembering its there Nothing worse than opening the black the first time and nothing comes out . Done that a couple of times.

Brad, Did you ever have problems with the galley tank outlet tube breaking loose from the tank? In the last four months ours ha come out or partially out flooding the under belly. Our traveling repair company has reinstalled it all 3 times. I don't know how it is attached but appears to only be ( glued ). The first time it came sounded like the tank may have fallen down ????. Last 2 times occurred when dumping full galley tanks!

I never had that issue, but I think you are right, they are just glued to the tank. Is the tank bouncing causing that?

I don't think so, we fulltimed in one spot for 1 year in Canton Tx in 2016 and have been camped here at Northshore RV park in Emory, Tx for this past year. No traveling at all, just finishing building a log home about a mile down the road.

You can't glue the PVC plumbing directly to the material used in the rotational molded tanks. They use a hub inserted with butyl gutter seal around it into the hub on the drain end of the tank and use a screw type hose clamp to tighten the fitting in the hub. Then glue 3" termination to the pvc hub adapter or use the 3" to 1 1/2" hub adapter for the 1 1/2" pvc termination plumbing and valves. See pictures below.

No, This did not happen to us. With me still working in the RV industry I know how most things are built. I have added a quarter turn valve to our fresh water overflow to prevent the siphoning when filling and I have also dropped our underbelly in the drop section of the Z frame to replace the 3" gate valve. I also had to lower the underbelly and trace wiring for the brake lights and turn signals through the underbelly and discovered wiring that was pinched in between the I-beam and the zig zag cross members of the frame. Wires were pinched and raw copper was touching the frame shorting out fuses for lights in a matter of minutes. Even the auto resetting type of fuse wasn't working. Fuse was under the hood of our Tow Vehicle and a pain to replace. I have quite a bit of RV knowledge from experience. From codes and compliance, mid line inspector, end line inspector, shipping at the door to re-greening of units and even the service and warranty side of things.
