Heat Pump

Our heat pump seems to be seizing up. Sometimes when it comes on it makes a loud humming sound and then kicks on after about a minute. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

. If the outside temp is below 40 degrees your heat pump will not work. When you do use it do not set your desired temp on the thermostat to more than 2 degrees above the actual room temp or your furnace will come on first. I keep bumping mine up 2 degrees untill I get to my desired temp. I tried using mine one morning when the outside temp was 36-38 degrees and it froze up and made a terrible racket. Once it was at least 40 outside things worked great! Also remember that the heat pump will not heat your underbelly!
