Grease fitting in axle

I have a 2012 36rw I decided to pull the bearing caps and check the grease on the axle bearings. I notice the grease fitting at the end of the axle. How much grease should you pump in and does this send grease to both the front and rear bearings?

Yes it sends it to both, I usually put 3 or 4 squirts, you don't won't to bust the seal. When I do bearings that have a back plug I take it out, put a cup under it and flush the old grease out and put the plug back.

I agree with Buddy, you have to be careful not to over do it with the grease gun. I usually put 3 or 4 pumps in each zerk about every 5-6,000 miles of pulling. Don't forget to also grease the suspension.

Good point - this is a case of more is not better - even worse

Blown many a motorcycle fork seal when younger either by putting so much it squeezes out the seal or first jump and splat out it comes !

Just did mine today. They also recommend turning the tire as you put the grease in. I can see where this would be a benefit and maybe help keep from blowing the seals. This was the first time for the suspension maintenance, had 2 grease zerts that were missing. Looked like they had ben lubed during assembly, so am assuming they weren't put in tight when installed.
