Cool Generator Question

I have a 2012 36RL. I have a 5000 Watt Onan Marquis that runs on gasoline. My question is would there be any issues installing the generator in the generator compartment and the gas tank in the storage compartment?

Do you really want to be sleeping above the Gasoline tank?? I think I would look into a Boat fuel tank to keep in the back of the TV with quick connect connections and just connect the fuel tank when needed.

You are correct. That was my thought also. I had not thought about the boat fuel tank that will work great.
Thanks

Would also be easier to refuel. No trying to pour gas into an on-board tank.

You might ask Onan how they recommend the gassers get installed. I know Keystone did gas for a while, and I think the tanks were down on the frame with an outside fill. I wouldn't want it inside.

Love my gas gen. I use a marine tank with a quick disconnect. If you're using your Genny a lot, it's always easier to find gas than LP. I store the gas tank right on top of the Genny. Of course I have the FL model which might put some folks more at ease.

I had quite a fight with my dealer over this same thing. Part of our deal was that they were going to install a 20 gallon fuel tank in the rear of the trailer between the frame rails (just like they do in toy haulers). It wasn't until the trailer was at the dealership that they finally said that they couldn't do it. I ended up with a 5500 LP. On the bright side I don't have to worry as much about the exhaust fumes. I would never have another RV without a generator but it does burn some LP.

I wouldn't store gasoline in a compartment that isn't vented to atmosphere.

What's the difference you are sleeping over two propane tanks, which would you rather have a leaking propane tank or gasoline in the compartment.
