Louis, sorry I didn't get back to you earlier. But it looks like you made a wise choice. I bought those same wheels and tires in Jan'13, I bought 5, so if I have to put on the spare it can stay there and the repaired tire will become the spare. We haven't moved yet with them on, but will be on the road probably the end of April. A few stops then on to Mor/ryde for their IS upgrade to go along with the tire/wheel upgrade already done. I've made the comment to several at RW that they are doing a dis-service to them selves and their customers putting Marathons on these units, but have been told it all comes down to dollars and cents (and not common sense).

As heavy as these units are why do they not come with 3 axles and wouldn't it be better to separate the axles a little more to allow for a more even load? As you can see I'm no engineer and this may have something to do with it or then again maybe it's cents and not common sense!

Actually these tires we are talking about should have been standard. With almost 5000 pounds per tire rating you would have been fine on the rv end. My mule has enough to pull it. Dad use to say "don't worry about the mule, just load the wagon".

Most RV are trying to get away from the Triple Axles as much as possiblebecause with that many axles spaced out the way they are there is even more stress put on the tires, wheels, suspension, and frames in tight turns. At least thats my understanding from things I've read.

Our last fifth wheel had three axles. The extra tire wear was noticeable.
