Fireplace replacement

The fireplace/heater on our 2012 36 RE only has on/off capability on the remote. To make any other changes require you to get down on your hands and knees to make the adjustments. I'm considering replacing it with one that has a remote with on/off, 2 speed fan and adjustable thermostat from 65 - 95 degrees. Has anyone replaced their unit? If so what did you replace it with?

Mine fried, pre EMS era. Redwood replaced it with something similar. You could put any kind in there as long as the dimensions work.

We have the Twin Star Spectrafire model, the remote has two tabs, each with three different settings, we have on\off, Temperature and Timer on top tab, on the bottom Spectrafire colour adjuster with five different settings, Spectrafire Intensity setting and Spectrafire Flame speed with (5) settings.
They are quite simple to work on as the components all are easily swapped out, I had a problem that coded E3, which showed fan motor, when in reality it was the control board that was bad. They sent me both pieces free of charge even though my warranty was out, and I replaced them myself.
Company is based in Delray Beach Florida, getting up with them takes patience, but they will call you back. Our model # is 26EF031GRA. Customer service # 866-661-1218.
Hope this helps.
