You are right! The new trucks do have plenty of power as mine did before I started playing with it.

It's also fun to shock the crap out of some kid that thinks he has hot rice burner out on the highway.

It's a sleeper unless someone know what the big exhaust pipe means.

It took me some time time to find a "non pollution controlled" truck that had very low miles on it, as soon as I got it the first thing I did was big exhaust, big intake, big turbo, upgraded the Trans and had a special code written for the ecm. This thing will pull through the mountains like you wouldn't believe. I have an edge programmer that I basically use as a gauge system. Towing big Red, If I run at 60 I can get 13.5 mpg. I got 10.8 in the mountains but I usually like to run at 70/75 and get around 11 I am very happy with that. It is amazing how well the cummins will pull, the rest of the truck is a Dodge
love my Redwood

Happy Happy

Uscgcapt...just remember if you're planning to make changes to a truck that's still under factory warranty; you gotta' pay to play. Any changes made to the drive train, including programming of the ECM, can (not always) be used by a dealer to deny a warranty claim. You need to go into custom modifications with your eyes and mind completely open.

Pay to Play

Spindrift... Do appreciate your thoughts on the complexity of custom mod and the factory warranty issues , that are very straight forward. This is the 1st 5vr
rodeo for us and interested in the power options available to get the most from are TV. As we all have made large investments in our coaches and tv , I share your thoughts on having eyes wide open as we budget fuel costs vs a blown turbo / transmission . Thanks again for your thoughts , uscgcapt
