All right so... I sign the paperworkfor our 38BR tomorrow. I have Cornerstone United extended on our RV now, I have never filed a claim against Cornerstone and will be getting close to $900.00 back. (I bought a 7 year policy)Camping World I'm sure is going to try and get me to buy one from them and I think theirs is through Good Sam. Please let me know what you are thinking concerning Extended coverages. I will be buying one regardless, I don't want to get ripped off, as I know many people have said they have declined the saleand by the time they get to the door the price of the policy drops $500.00-$1000.00.
Time is of the essence please lets hear your responses.

The fine folks at Redwood cover you for two years. Wait until then to consider purchasing an extended warranty. There's always someone ready to sell you one.

Thats my 2 cents worth.Edited by: Grandpa

I've bought many extended warranties and have never used them. So for now on I'm going to take the money I would usual spend on the warranty and put it back for repairs. I also agree with Grandpa

I'm going to say a big thank you already to both Grampa & Dave, you've got me rethinking this already.

I, too, will wait til closer to the 2 year anniversary before purchasing a service contract. Which, time after time has more than paid for itself on my previous RV.

We're doing the self insured route. Take any extra income such as rebates, refunds, money from the sale of the Marathons off our Montana and such andputting that money in a safe place to use if we have a major problem that we can't fix ourselves. The only major expense we've had on previous RVs was the Fridge in our 91 Prowler, but when it failed it was 12 years old. So with only one major expense in 20+ years we feel pretty safe.

Really I'm more concerned about blowing a tire and loosing the side of the trailer than I am the appliances. I've been wrong before but I'm willing to risk it unless someone gives me one hell of a deal. I have thought about towing insurance but I'm not sure how that works when you have a rig as big as these are

Send a message via Yahoo to RollsRoyce

If you do take the extended warranty ...Maybe you should call cornerstone to see what they would charge.......We took out th 5 year plan but turned it down originally...They originally wanted $2800 but before we walked out the door it dropped to $1400 without us even asking ...So feel free to deal it's like dealing with a car dealership.

I too have beenreluctantover the years topurchaseany sort ofwarrantyor towinginsurancebut I took out the Good Sams road side (was offered a real good offer) and on the way home from picking up our unit 1200 miles i had a problem with the truck they send out 2 two trucks 1 for the truck and 1 for the rig. The coast of the tow will cover the good Sams Road side cost for the next 18 years, so this time it was worth it for me
