I bought a light kit from Home Depot for our ceiling fan and it plugged right into the receptacle in the fan housing. I used florescent bulbs because they don't generate the heat incandescent bulbs do.
I also put rubber bands around the base of the globes to help keep the screws from loosening when we move from place to place.
