dual pane vs single pand windows

Can anyone shed some light on the controversy surrounding the two types of windows in RV's? Are dual pane worth the money? weight added? insulation value? What about fogging up in the winter? We plan on 5th wheel living full time in the Colorado mountains.

Our 2012 36RL was our first unit with Dual Pane glass. Sure was nice not having to mop up the water running down the inside of the windows when the temps dropped. Probably not a really lot of insulation value, but when cold outside the inside panes will be cool, but not forming ice, and the added bonus is the amount of sound deadening that comes with them. Makes for a much quieter interior.
Oh, also most forgot about the weight factor, yes probably a little heavier, but not enough that I would be worried, but then again I've gone overboard with a heavier suspension setup.

That should sum it up. Looks like this will be a short thread

I really didn't know there was a controversy over it

Dual pane if at all possible - if it's good enough for the house, it should be on the rv

Dual pane- absolutely!

Whenever I'm working a RW show, I recommend dual pane to anyone who will listen. :-)

First dual panes I've had, and the are so quiet! Didn't give the option any more thought beyond checking the box.

When we were ordering our first fiver, we tossed and turned over that decision... We decided to get them , and it was a great decision.. Once you have them , you won't regret it...

I curious if anyone doesn't have them? I don't think I even saw any without them on the lots.
