Double trailer

Just a honest opinion! what would everyone here say about pulling a 12' 3" small I closed single axel trailer behind my 36Fl? The 12' 3'' is from hitch to rear door and the with is 6'9'' high 6'7" GVWR 2990.

Depends - .....

I don't think it would be a big deal, if, ........

You have disc brakes on the RW and brakes on the trailer. Also would want a rear camera on the Redwood. Also make sure Suspension is in good shape. I would add the MorRyde eqauizer and wetbolt kit at a minimum

Atom Ant would be best one to talk to, he towed a boat all the time behind his and was getting ready to tow a Jeep. A couple of us tow vehicles but they are flat towed and set up like behind a motorhome with tow bars and brake system on board.

What would be your overall length as this may be an issue in some states? What would be the GVWR of the trailer? Personally, I would want better than electric brakes.

If your little trailer weighs 2990lbs empty you're already at the RW hitch max of 3000lbs with a tongue weight of 300 lbs before you put anything in the trailer. With the numbers you've provided, I'd say NO. That's not taking into account what tires you have on your RW, which brakes on both trailers, is the suspension on the RW in good shape, & what is the total length.

He said his GVWR was 2990. That kind of tells me the trailer might not have brakes though. I definitely would not tow it without brakes on it, especially if the RW only has electric brakes.

I have an enclosed 10' trailer that I haul 3 bikes in. With 4' of tongue it puts me at 70'. I would do it local being over length but not on a long trip. I would hate to have to wave good by to the DW standing by the trailer as I drove away to find a place to park and unhook

I appreciate all the advice yes this small trailer doesn't have brakes, I was only going to add about 400 lbs in it. Everyone here is right, electric brakes on the RW barely do the job as it is.
I did listen to others advice and got me a 1Ton DRW and retired the old 3/4. next trip will be to Louisiana good time for a test drive. just waiting to see what (Irma) is going to do. Once again thank you everyone for advice.

A double axle will tow better than a single axle. Brakes for sure, or you won't be able to straighten out the whip. A friction type sway control also helps.

I decided to go for a 750 lbs cargo basket that way I don't have to worry about brakes or anything.

Those hitches are only rated for 300 lb tongue weight.

Yes I did read that on the tag, I'm only putting my RW skirting on it cause it usually ends up full of dirt and mud after snow. And I didn't want to transport it in the shower no more. I think the basket itself only weighs 30 to 40 lbs and skirting adds another 40lbs

Ah cool. Probably a good place for those outdoor carpets too. I have the kind that looks like grass only it's brown, and it gets trashed outside and full of bugs. Hate to put it in the basement. I put it in the pickup once and it blew out.

Blew out just like my sewer hose few times lol the RW has them black pipes underneath but it won't fit the couplings.
