Double Pane Windows Separating?
Just talked to a dealer about configuring a new camper and the question came up about dual pane windows. He's telling me it is just a matter of time before they lose their seal and fog up. Said all the jostling around and flexing from going down the road causes the panes to lose their seal. He said maybe 3 or 4 years down the road it may happen - but it will happen. If you don't travel place to place much then the windows may not be an issue for a much longer time. Anyone have problems with their windows?

Although I only have 20000 miles towing. We have lived in it fulltime for 2 1/2 years with no issues. Have only heard of 1 issue of this on the forums

Our coach will be 5 years old in October, has been towed 30k miles (so far), no window issues.

I have now has dual pane windows in my coaches since 2007 with zero issues... will not Have a trailer without them.

We had one window go immediately after we brought her home which I attribute to a manufacturing issue. No problems after 4 years.

Sounds like a salesman who knows nothing about RV's. I have never had a problem with a dual pane window in the 15 years we have had RV's.

OR a salesman that is trying to sell something they have on the lot...
I had a guy try telling me that I should take the trailer on their lot and not order one. He told me The Onan generator they put in is loud, and nobody likes them, so no sense getting a prep kit, i would be sorry

It was a salesman, nuff said! We've lived in ours for 4 1/2 years & between 40-50k miles & no problems.

I was actually talking to the service guy because all the salesman were busy when I called. I would have been a little skeptical too if I was talking to a sales guy.
I was a Jayco owner until I sold my trailer in December so I am a member of the Jayco forum also. I posted the same question on that forum and nearly all responses are that there were problems with dual pane windows fogging - typically after about 4 to 5 years.
Members on this forum aren't having problems? Maybe Redwood uses a different/better manufacturer of dual pane windows than Jayco?
I started this thread because if dual pane windows are a known issue and RW doesn't offer the option of single pane, that weighs heavy on my decision to purchase RW or not.

In the higher end 5er category you may have hard time finding one that doesn't have dual pane windows. And if I recall the windows are made by Kinro which is owned by Lippert which Thor (BTW now owns Jayco along with 75%+/- of all rv brands) uses heavily, so unless you want to cheapen up your choice with more cold air & noise, you might have to gamble on the dual panes.

You can't live in fear of a Lippert part failing - just plan on it  Seriously though, Danny is right.
