Thanks for the response, don't have a problem with my propane as I have a 250 gallon tank out behind the fifth wheel, do you know where this switch would be? and how would I go about seeing if it works? or can I pull my shore line and then start up my Generator and see if this works that way?

look at the transfer switch like a "Y" the top left is the shore power the top right is the gen. the center is the transfer switch and the bottom is the coach. the flow of energy only runs down so you can only get power coming out the bottom and the transfer switch flips side to side depending who is supplying power. Giving way to the name/phrase "Auto Transfer Switch"
and like i said the transfer may not be at that instant. Some switches have a delay. For protection.

The transfer switch is a black, plastic box which is usually located high on the bulkhead that separates the front genny/battery compartments from the basement. I have surge protection in our coach and it can take upwards of three minutes for the transfer switch to "see" loss of normal/utility source and switch over to the generator. Sometimes, you almost think it's not working but it eventually switches over.

Yes, that is the purpose of the transfer switch.
