Couch is peeling

What have people done when the furniture starts to crack and peel? I assume I will need to replace it.

Are there replacement couched that can be brought in through the door?

Our cushions were peeling so we had them recovered in fabric. That was a year ago. So far so good there. However, one of the recliners is now starting.

I got one recliner peeling and the arm rest on the couch is starting to go. Not very well made furniture in my opinion. Some people state that the later models had better and more comfortable furniture. However, I see where one is a 2014 model!

We still have the two recliners and sleeper sofa from spring of 2013 and they are in pretty good shape. I've always thought they were pretty comfortable.

We are snowbirds so roughly half time, and maybe some in the summer so roughly half the year.

Ours started with the two rocker/recliners and then the virus spread to the couch. We ditched them all. Purchased two theater recliners and left the couch out. We are thinking about another small recliner chair for the corner where the couch was facing the TV and maybe a small table to do some work while looking out the back window. With the couch out, the room seems so much bigger. When we are finished I'll send some pictures.

Same problem here with all of our front room furniture. We were told it was leather when we purchased new our 2014 Redwood. Called dealer no help, called Redwood no help. For the price of these units the material is thin and super cheap, what a shame and shame on Redwood for not standing behind their products. We only used the unit for camping in the summer for two years before the peeling started. BIG RIP OFF!!!!!

We bought our 13 in 14. We live in it 6 months of the year, and ours started cracking this fall. The hide-a-bed is the worst. Please post pictures and info on what you used for replacement to help us who are about to replace.

We are also full-timers with a cat and we were blaming the cat for this issue. Can't help but agree with everyone here, you spend a fair chunk of money on these units and then you end up replacing low quality items. Over the years, I have contacted several manufacturers about issues with their products, some are exemplary and stand behind their products, while others are unworthy.

We bought 2 lazyboys and a new sofa. That furniture was not up to Redwood standards! Also, look under the cushion. The manufacturer’s name is there. I wrote and called and removed the bad covers and mailed them. They sent me back new covers. They are the brown”leather” not real leather!! But better. Then we just decided to replace with new. The Lazyboy recliners are terrific.
Any dealer can get you the furniture

We recently bought our Redwood and the dealer had already replaced the furniture. They installed a nice sleeper sofa by England, an affiliate of Lazyboy. They also put in recliners made for rv's. My wife got a call from the furniture store yesterday that our Lazyboy chairs we ordered are in. Can't hardly wait to get these RV recliners out.

Sorry to Hear About the Problems

We have a 2014.5 36RL with the same furniture you are having problems with. Our "leather" is holding up fine. We aren't full-timers, but we have used our RV for trips of more than a month at a time. It is stored in the Georgia heat when not being used and we've had it in a polar vortex (-17 degrees) without a problem. We don't have pets, however. When we are ready to use it, I wipe the furniture down with a damp microfiber cloth to get the dust off. Don't know if that has helped, but it certainly hasn't hurt it. We are in it now in Florida and we stopped by the Camping World here and I looked at the replacement furniture they had on the floor. I didn't care for it. so I think the commercial solution is better.

Our 2013 36RL's chairs are peeling and cracking badly and our sofa bed is starting to do the same. Our friend with a 31 RW also had the problem and replaced his chairs. I'm off to Lazyboy for new chairs

Redwood's chair suppliers must have had a bad supply of finish materials at some point.

Our 2012 36RL (built in Aug. / Sept. 2011) has the faux leather chairs and couch. We have used the coach 3 to 4 months every year. The finish on the chairs and couch have held up well. I have never liked the chairs mainly because they are not comfortable to sit in for more than an hour at a time. This year, I exchanged them for the Lazy Boy chairs from our house for our 3 month stay in Florida.

Furniture Problems

We bought our 2013 new. The brochure said leather furniture but was all synthetic and peeling. I argued with our dealer, Lifestyle RV in KC, and Redwood / Crossroads. Lifestyle wanted to "settle" with us paying a third of the replacement cost. We had to get a lawyer and almost went for a class action but lawyer said not big enough class. Ended up settling for $10,000 but had to pay the lawyer costs. Replaced all of the furniture. Brochure took leather out of description for 2014 and later.

Just a thought to folks with peeling furniture, especially if in Kansas, that case set a precedent that could be used in future lawsuits. A case number and date would be handy.
