Broken Plastic Wire Straps
Hi Folks,
Have any of you come across this problem, please see attachment (the picture should be rotated 90 degrees clockwise). I don't know what these straps are called but I have 5 slides and they all broke. I managed to 'patch up' two of them on my electrical slides since these are inside the trailer but today I noticed that the 3 straps on the external slides are also broken.
I realize I could patch that also but that would only be another temporary solution. If any of you have any ideas or suggestions it would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

Paul some people have added hinges to the spot they are broken. They help to hold wiring hoses etc that move out with the slides they have a tendency to break where your did. A metal hinge will eliviate this

The two slide looms on my Front Living Room slides were broken on delivery. I took them out, corrected the wiring and installed hinges on the plastic looms 2 1/2 years ago and have not had any more issues with the two front slides.
The other 3 slides I reposition the Slide Looms underneath the slides to prevent them from breaking, so far so good, no failures on the outside looms.

Available in single, double and triple openings for wires, water, gas lines etc.. Flex Guard by Lippert. They usually bend and flex well if they are installed in the proper location. I agree that sometimes a hinge mounted on the one end will allow it to pivot better and not break off. Look to see if they are in a bind or try to stretch to far. If possible to move them to a better location, do it.
Flex Guard
I see some are listed on eBay also. Search for Flex Guard.

I think these are some of the movable parts that tend to break over time. On my unit, all of them were disconnected when I got it and were only being held up by the wires themselves.

Thank you all for your replies. I never thought to look at Lippert since I figured these were added by Redwood when the slides were created.
I also fixed my internal ones with hinges, so I will follow your advise and attempt the same on the outside. Replacing them with new ones is probably futile since they will break again in time.

I believe the inside ones close so tight and flat that there is no way they will survive with out breaking.
My previous SOB 5th Wheel had metal ones with a hinge in the middle and were much stronger and more durable.
Most all RVs today with slides use these same cheap plastic holders, walking around at Campgrounds I see many of them installed incorrectly, hanging down or broken.

Flex Guards work
My 2015 Sequoia came with "flex Guards" installed at all positions. Two years and still in great shape.
