Belly warming

I know when the weather gets below freezing the propane heater needs to be running to warm the belly of the camper. What I would like to know is has anyone installed a heater in the belly of their camper that is safe to run there?

I don't use an electric heater in my belly. Just a little Jack does the trick for me.

By the way, I still owe you an answer on the if my 2016 Silverado 3500 DWD High Country long bed on-board BRAKING system is compatible with the Titan disc BRAKING package. I just got the truck back from the dealer. The Reese Elite 25K hitch underbed rails were on back order for almost a month. I will venture out to the storage facility and run the brake tests later this week.

As a retired EE and journeyman electrician I have reservations about heating the underbelly with a space heater. I have reviewed electric heat modifications that are available for installing In-line to your gas fired furnace. The electric heating element installs In-line to the furnace flexible ducts via a neat looking and compact plenum. The existing ducts then connect to this plenum extension. Add-on tank electric heaters are also an option I would consider. A wireless thermometer for monitoring the belly area could be helpful for any solution.

What would be awesome is to be able to power the Cheap Heat with 240VAC off the pedestal. Could be done. I don't think 110 would be enough - bout like the dryer.

I do not recall the name however a similar unit was featured in Trailer Life.

Yes. That is the one reviewed in Trailer Life mag. The cost on Amazon seems reasonable however some additional dealer install cost could be required. From the magazine review the system appears to be well designed.

Ditto x 2 I use what is called a milk house heater it has a thermostat, which I set to 60 degrees and it keeps the bedroom and bathroom floor nice and toasty.

I just use a small ceramic heater to keep the chill out of the belly, works great for now

I used a radiator type heater in the basement and tt worked well. Kept the bedroom floor warm even when traveling

I have one of those Igloo portable coolers, I think instead of leaving it outside the RW on cold nights if I placed it in the basement and plugged it in it would throw some heat to keep the basement warm, you could do the same with a portable electric fridge/freezer.
