Our 2010 Montana bedroom slide was hydraulic.
The current cable mech is the BAL Accuride system. Seems some of the higher end units are going cable, like DRV.

Tom,

Mine has 1 electric motor per slide that is easily removed with a single clip and a bolt. Each of the motors are interchangeable so if one goes out, you can pull a motor from one of the other slides.

I'm sure there's other systems out there that work as well but the idea that they designed it to be worked on was a good selling point to me

Do they make their own system?

I'm not sure Brad. I just thought it was pretty cool that they said that they knew that slide motors were an issue with most RVs. So they made their slide motors accessible and easy to work on. Even the bedroom slide is easy, just lift the bed and it's right there under the bed. I wouldn't get dirty replacing that one.

My NuWa Hitchhiker was the same way. The bedroom slide had an electric motor located under the bed. Never had any kind of issue with it. Not sure why the manufacturers were in such a big rush to replace the system.

That sounds like a nice design Dave!

Bedroom slide within slide

[QUOTE=R38Special;71135]We have a 2015 38GK with the bedroom slide within a slide. No problem with the extended positions of either slide. When the slides are retracted the larger slide makes a loud groaning noise and does not close completely on the left side. The trim piece around the opening in the lower left hand corner has broken the 2 bottom screws on the vertical piece and there is a 3/8 inch gap in the closed position. Thanks for the info on lubricating the slides. We are going to lube the system and synchronize the motors. How do you access the motors?[/QUOTE

Update: We decided to bypass the warranty nightmare and were luck to find Larry @ Bullseye Mobile RV Service near Surprise, AZ. He was well-acquainted with Schwintech. It took him 45 minutes to replace the broken screws in the frame around our bedroom slide, lubricate the slide and make the necessary adjustments to the slide. All for just $89.00 and we didn't have to move our rig to a Service Center. It moves smoothly and closes completely now. When the screws broke off it caused the bedroom slide to drag on the left side and kept it from closing completely. The U-tube videos helped us to understand the issues we were experiencing. Thank you for your help and suggestions!!
