Battery charging ?

Is the battery charging every time it is hooked up to electric? Button on. How long should a charge on a new battery last? Just using it for lights, maybe a little heat, and tv for an overnight in a truck stop. Oh and of course the fridge.

The chargers are smart chargers and will provide the battery with a full charge then kick down to a trickle charge. there are no issues with staying plugged in for extended periods.

There are a lot of variables in considering how long charged batteries will last when using your unit while not connected to shore power. I suppose if you're careful, you could go for a few days.

Our 2012 36RL (built September 2011) has been connected to shore power (or tow vehicle) virtually 100% of the time since we took ownership. In October 2014, I had the batteries (original two) load tested. They were still able to meet original specifications in terms of cranking Amps as printed on the labels. I think that, so long as the converter is functioning properly, there is no problem with it damaging the batteries.

TV requires shore power. Standard frig runs on propane when not hooked up to shore power. Residential frig runs off of 3 batteries when not connected to shore power.

Yes, if it needs it.
Button on.
Not sure what this means

As Dave says, it depends on what you use and what you have in the rv.

TV, microwave, D/w, etc...
are all 110v only and will not work without shore power..
Is your fridge a residential or absorption type rv fridge?

Will say that with everything OFF in our 38gk when in storage, the three batteries die within days. so if I were using it, even less... but may last overnight...
