Back storage door on '16 mb39

Has anyone found a fix for the rear storage door. The hinge system is not keeping the door straight.

I was looking at the door on a demo at the Rally this year and asked the salesman about it. He had no answers. It was already out of align on a new unit.
I don't think there is a good fix. The door should have never been designed to swing open. It should have folded down or up. Just to long for the hinge design.

Slight lifting pressure on the door while twisting the lock handle when closing works for me........seems to keep the door straight.

Our new 2016 39MB rear hatch folds down. That was to be the norm starting in Sept.

The other design would have been ok if they were split to 20" each but no way it would work on a door that wide.

Ours has the hinge on the left side and I have opened and closed that door many times (probably more than 100 times) , no problems with sag or alignment.
It is a weak point due to the length of the door and I have to always be careful with it.
