Ariston Washer

Ran water in our new washer and it won't spin out or drain the water. Anyone know how to get the water out. New machine never used before.

Were the packing bolts in the back removed that hold the drum in place for shipment?

That wouldn't impact the draining though.

Sounds like your pump isn't running, do you hear it? Its about the only thing you can hear while its running.

On mine they were 2 lag bolts about 4 inches long that held the drum, but had tags all over it telling you to remove them. Sounds like you might have something else going on if the pump isn't running.

Forgive me if this has already been asked. I understand the differences in load size from standard home-washer/dryers. Do the Ariston's CLEAN the clothes? What about drying time on the dryer since is only 110v. Is it extremely long? I find myself wondering about this a lot and I just decided to go ahead and ask the wise ones :-) Thanks! Sure am getting excited to hear ANYTHING from the dealer on our new 38RL. Still nothing.

Our Aristions (I keep saying "our" because they are 10 years old now and may be different than the new ones) are HE type, so they use little water yet yield a great clean with HE detergent. I never had any complaints, although I do with our home HE equipment.

The Dryer is large enough to accept two washer loads most of the time.

I can wash a full king set of sheets in one load, or a set of 2 full bath sheets and wash cloths and hand towels in one load. Another example would be about 5-6 beach towels.

The dryer does take a while - it has a high and low setting and we have never used low The secret is to spin dry the stuff in the washer at the full speed (1200 or 2400 RPM, I can't remember) and they come out almost fully dry, yet I never have issues with wrinkles. For a full load of towels or sheets, it can take 1-1/2 hours. For regular clothes, about 40 minutes. If the clothes are still damp in the dryer when the next washer load is done, I throw the additional wash load in the dryer with the existing to free up the washer and keep rolling.

The auto cycle on the dryer is fine with clothes, but for heavy loads it typically quits too early, so I use timed dry.

And no - this ain't Dory talking She assigned me to the wash.

Wow that is VERY helpful thanks AA! If ours are like that then I can certainly live with it. I know there will be a lot of adaptations we will be making from what we are used to. After 20 years of very active RVing, we feel like there won't be anything TOO shocking, but I find myself thinking a lot about the laundry and the SHOWER WATER PRESSURE!! LOL!

hahaha - Our shower is a little on the low pressure side, but I don't mind it because my daughter will drain the tank otherwise! With this huge fresh water supply, we have opened up a whole new set of campgrounds to explore that we ignored before because they were only electric.

Why didn't they go with 240V for the dryer? Cost?

I don't think I've ever actually seen a factory installed 240v dryer. I think it complicates things with the generator, 30A sites, etc. However, I know lot of folks that install their own.

Forgot about the genny. That makes perfect sense. Although, you can always strap a genny for multiple voltages. However, a little pricey.

I wonder if a 240V dryer would work on 110 through one leg...just low heat. I don't know what happens with those installed by owners.

Well, if you're on a 50 Amp site, you do have 240VAC entering the RW. You would have to tap off the main terminals to a secondary breaker box to feed a 240VAC Dryer. May or not work if only connected to a 30 amp source with only one hot leg.
There are several on the MOC that have made such mods.

Ya I remember Oz did the first one I saw. Montana made it easy with the two 20A circuits in the W/D closet.

Our 38gk did not come with a WD and we were thinking of adding them. Question is, where does the dryer vent ??

You'll have to install the vent with a 4" hole. They shoot straight out the side of the wall, high on the curb side for yours.

Darn, was hoping I missed something. Well, I don't know if the wife would want to see me on the side of the coach with the 1/2" drill and a 4" hole saw

Since it's the passenger side, it would dump on her while sitting under the awnings

Hmmm,
Is there a possibility of going out the roof ?!?
or would that be too much of a draw for rainwater infiltration?

we don't have a W/D in our 38gk,
but do have the water hookups - just never thought to look for dryer hookups!!!

our closet is full of shelves the wife uses for a linen closet, but it seems to go all the way to the top if you could resolve the roof seal concern...

or maybe make it come out in one of the O's in Redwood ????
