All 4 tires wearing on inside and outside

I have noticed that all 4 of my tires have been wearing on both the inside and outside of the tire. I took it to the service department and the techinican said the axles and leaf springs look good. The tires have never been low. I always check them before leaving on a trip and use a TPMS. The camper has never been close to being overloaded. The technician said it may need an alignment and I am scheduled to take it in for that at another service department. The person at that service department said that he would need to check it to see if he could do an alignment on it.
So has anyone experienced this type of tire wear? Were you able to get an alignment and did it fix the problem? If he says it can't be aligned I'm not sure what I would do next except replace the entire suspension system and although I heard IS is great, I am not ready to invest in that now.

On EDIT, I missed that you said "inside and outside". That can't be alignment. It is low pressure, or if you have G614 tires like Michelle and Ann say below, that is just how they look. Maybe some of the other G-rated tires too.

If you happen to have the Goodyear G614 that may be typical wear pattern of them.

I agree with Michelle. If the tires are Goodyear G614's they appear rounded when brand new. I believe that is intentional due to the scuffing when turning and not placing deep tread there when made. We are on our second set of G614's and they all look worn at the edges when they were new.

The answers above are probably the right ones. If you do need an alignment a truck/trailer service place is where to go. I had another 5th wheel RV (still under warranty) that had excessive wear on the outside of tires, the dealer sent me to a truck place had an alignment set up where they checked the alignment and hyraulically bent the RV axle back to spec.

I agree that it's probably normal wear pattern. If your alignment is off you would mostly be be getting excessive wear on 1 or 2 tires, but if all are looking about the same you're probably good.
Mine new when had the right front tire extremely worn in about 6000 miles, had it aligned & they found it was badly out of alignment, RW replaced the worn tire & reimbursed me for the alignment, then all 4 wore as you've described.

My GY 614 showed about 25% more wear both inside and out side edges, they taper more round then I would expect. I think this is by design and
and heavy loading. Mine have about 12000 miles and 50% tread left

I had the same issue on my SOB fiver, took them to Goodyear... After much research it was determined that I had a normal wear pattern called " Shoulder Step"

They even showed me pictures on their internal site that looked exactly like the ones I had...

That was the G614, not sure about other brands...

I had the same issue on my 2012 36rl. I put G614's on in 1/8/14 after about 15k I noticed uneven wear pattern on in and out side edges of all 4 tires. My Goodyear commerical tire dealer said he sees this a lot on rv's running stock wheels. He suggested that I put on wider wheels. I replaced stock wheels with 7" wide wheels, tires now have 46k on them running and looking like new.

Sounds like normal wear as all 4 are the same. It also seems to me that when ours got about half worn out that they seemed to wear faster and the ware pattern seem to change. And wore faster. You also want to inspect the inner side of you tires. I went to rotate the tire and when I pulled the tire on the inside of 2 of them there was a 4 to 5 inch long crack in the rubber. Saved myself from a blow out replace all 4. Outsides looked great alway covered insides are under and that's where the cracks were.

I also have a 38Gk. Mine did the same thing. when I went to have them aligned it was discovered that the axels were bent. And they way mine bent they could not straighten them. i had to change axels. If you find this is your problem and go the route I did of replacing the axels. I would advice you go with the 8k axels but keep the 7K springs. The 8k springs which I opted to go with are noticeably rougher ride. Which sets off other issues inside the coach while traveling.

One curious thing about your comments!
When the axles are installed they are already slightly bent in the center of the axle tube to allow for the rv weight & wouldn't ever be perfectly straight. To align them they also bend them to get the proper alignment for castor & camber regardless if 7k or 8k axles. So to say they replaced because they were bent is confusing or were they bent from hitting something & were beyond repair?

Danny, in my case the tires begin to wear excessively. Especially on one side. I took it to the what was considered the best in the area. They have been in business for 60 years doing alignments on everything from 18 wheelers, Motorhomes and RV's. He was able to show me that the bend in the axel was off center toward the street side of the coach which was the side that was showing the excessive wear on the inside of the tires. He did try to replace the proper bend in the axels. But was unable to bring it to specs. So I opted to replace the axels with the 8K axels and springs. Also installed the CR3000 at that time. The results of going to the H rated 17.5 tires and axels is a much firmer if not rougher ride. I had to anchor the sofa in the rear. I had to replace some of the hardware in the pantry doors so they would not open. I wish I could have installed the IS suspension at that time. I just could not make the trip to a location to get it done. Am I glad i replaced those axels?? YES! I now have greater peace of mind knowing I have a suspension that is properly fit for the weight. i have thus far had zero tire issues.

This past March I went out to Morryde and had IS installed with disk brakes. 970 miles out , the two nights on the way out I had to close cabinets and put stuff back in the pantry . On the way home after having 8K IS installed not one cabinet opened and I was able to leave the toaster on the counter , it never moved! IS works better then the 7K buggy springs and equal flex trunnion that the trailer came with. On a side not I pulled into Morryde with a broken wet bolt and the rear spring hanger bent with the leaf spring riding on the frame. It would not have made the ride back home safely , the roads in spring where in bad shape especially in new York. New York got the award for worst roads heading east on I80 !

I stopped In Milton PA and scaled the rig , I had 13,900 sitting on the trailer tires hooked up and 17240 total trailer weight . You made a smart choice to get 8K running gear , if your still using the factory wet bolt and shackle link plates that are just under 1/4" think I would strong urge you to replace then with heavy duty OEM morryde parts.

Mark, Yessir i have changed all the undercarriage out. axels, wet bolts hangers etc. I installed the disc brakes before all of this started. So I have the undercarriage fixed now. Wish it was the IS system. NOW! if I could fix the absolutely stupidly designed AC system or should I say lack of a system I would be completely happy with a few exceptions.....

Redwoods are not insulated regardless of what they advertise. And the air flow or lack there of does not make sense. I have done all that can be done to improve it. And it still will not work on the hot Southern La. days. That is another subject.... LOL
