We just signed up for 5 days at the Balloon Festa in October. Is there anybody from this group going?

I wish !!!

trying to fit in a trip to Quartsite though...

We went 20 years ago (at least) and enjoyed the area very much !!!
We still talk about the hang gliders that went up Sandia peak with us and then stepped off a MOUNTAIN !!!

Stunning !

Being in the lodging industry, 5 hours north of Albuquerque, we have had a ton of guests from there over the years. Almost everyone of them has said it is a spectacular event that is not to be missed. Have never made it ourselves, but based on local knowledge passed to us, go, have fun !!

I've heard about this event several times over the years and it was on my list of things I wanted to do. Today there was a limited opportunity of only room for 30 coaches and this evening it was down to 4 so I took one spot. 5 days of watching balloons and taking pictures and videos.

2017 will be a better year for us and we're planing on putting some miles on the rig. This Friday we're going to Branson to trailer back a collector car for my son. It's only a 7 hour trip one way but I'm looking forward to the drive. I think I'm more excited than a 14 year old boy anticipating his first kiss.

I does sound like fun Dave. I'm usually there for business so I get up early in the morning and watch from the Marriott!

The Winnebago group had some cancellation openings this last October, but they wanted over $1,600 so we didn't do it.

Wow $1600.....they must provide something else too. I think ours was $680 for 5 days.

We went to the Adirondack balloon festival in lake George NY this past September it was spectacular and they said it wasn't anywhere as spectacular as Albuquerque NM.

We were there two years ago with the Fantasy RV Group. Had 30 amp electric, water, and one free pump-out. Took approx 1300 pictures (sure glad for Digital Cameras).

We're sure looking forward to it. I bought a professional grade video camera last year that I've never taken the time to learn so I guess I better get reading the direction and perfecting my skills

Ya I think it was packed with other daily activities that I wasn't necessarily interested in.

We were there for a week this year. Our second time to go. It is a spectacular event but is driven by the weather/winds. This year during our stay the wind proved to be an issue on several sessions we attended.

We didn't stay on site, stayed at American RV park instead. We booked early in the year and ended up in a "premium" site. Since they jack up the rates for the event they just put you where ever without respect to the normal cost. The site was still smallish for a Redwood but overall our stay there was satisfactory.

We enjoy Albuquerque and New Mexico. Love the food there and if you enjoy photography, the Fiesta should be on your bucket list. It's said to be the most photographed event in the world and for good reason.

American is where we'll be staying this year with Entegra at their premium sites. Is it a nice place? There will be 30 coaches huddled there and they rented a bus for activities so we don't have to drive.

Next time try the newly opened Route 66 casino rv park, it's very large with looong pull thurs. It's bout 6-8 miles west of the American rv park, which is very nice by the way.

Danny I appreciate the tip on the RV park. This time we're with a group so I guess we have to stay where they stay. But at 70' I need long pull throughs

We were in site 141 which is a corner site with a bit more space than the others. It's not a bad place, it's just tight. I've seen the typical complaints about wifi etc but we don't really have any of those from our stay.

They have a newer section with site numbers in the 200s. Perhaps they will group all of you in that area.

The 200 section is east and is super nice, but only 45 sites. The older section is nice though too - more trees.
