This is for all you more experienced travelers. We bought 2 air compressors the other day to use to fill up the pin box and the tires. We wanted something small but powerful enough to go to a minimum 80#'s. We have E rated tires and they call for 80# cold. 1 compressor woudln't go above 65. This was a small automatic one by Kobalt. Select the pressure and walk away. I set it to 80 and it had stopped at 65. The other was from Home Depot. It filled the tires but took forever. Does anyone out there have recommendations for a compressor that they travel with?

I have a great one and its pretty heavy duty. I bought it to fill up my G614s to 110psi. It's called Viair and model is 400c.Edited by: 5th_Time

Like everything this is a compromise, pressure, size and affordable. The best I could do is a Porter Cable model #C2004-WK, 165 psi at 29 lbs. It was purchased at Home Depot.

Sears has one that is rated at 150#. It is oil less and does a good job with my g tires at 110#. I think it was about $80.00 on sale.

I may have the same unit. It works quite well for pumping up the G614 tires to 110 psi.

150 PSI max

2.0 CFM @90 PSI

1.5 Gallon air chamber

Regular Price: $129.00

Unfortunately, Sears don't list it anymore. Tried a search, and it wasn't found.

Do you have a Sears close by? They may be able to help.

Is the Viair 400c hard mount or portable? How long does it take to inflate the G tires to 110 psi?

I ordered a 12 volt compressor from amazon that I think is a Viair and we like it but it blows fuses like crazy so I bout a relay to put in it's place. The compressors that can handle the 110 psi usually have alligator clips for the batteries instead of the cigarette plug.

I carry this one from Harbor Freight. Takes time but works well.

I use a 115v, 200psi compressor ... as I have a generator I did not want to limit myself to a wimpy 12v motor.

I'd like to get one with a tank as I want to be able to use it with an airbrush(with an additional regulator). so I'll keep looking.

Airbrush!? I did that for a living for over thirty years.Graphic designer.I still have my little compressor w/tank. But in my new life I use a pancake from Home Depot. They're much lighter now. Lots of air so you can blow off surfaces or parts easily.

There are 2Craftsman models currently listed that might do the job.

1. Model No. 15216 rated at 150 PSI with 6 gallon tank, weighs 42 lbs. $169.

2.Model No. 15215 rated at 135 PSI with 4 gallon tank, weighs 42 lbs. $129.

Hope this helps.
