Air Bags

Question for you guys that have been on the road for some time.
I want to install air bags on the truck so what are the best ones to purchase?

I have run Firestone bags for the last 18 years and they have served me well. I just installed them on this new truck. I have had air shocks on 'vehicles since I was a teenager and these new ones hold air better in the last 10 years. This time I got the on board compressor and it makes a world of difference being able to adjust the air while driving

As Shane said. I have the AirLift 5000 brand but either is good. Get the onboard compressor either with or without the remote control. Night and day difference in towing and ride for the rig. I literally have to remind myself she's back there.

Play with pressures. Empty I run mine all the way down to 5psi. Loaded anywhere from 40-60 depending on road. My RL is pin heavy however.

I don't think there is a bad air bag system. Much like trucks, they all do the job. I have the internal jounce bumpers on mine (Air Lift) which made it easier to install, but otherwise no difference from other models or brands.

have Firestone on my 2011 F350 SRW. I also used Firestone on a prior 2004 Dodge 3/4 ton. I have never had a problem with them. I actually installed myself on the F350. Took me about a week of a couple hours each day laying on my back to do it but it was successful. I only installed them on the F350 because with the SRW and long bed, the Redwood dropped the rear of the truck quite a bit. Levels up perfect now and ride much better. The biggest problem I had during install was removing the DEF tank bracket. I ended up breaking the bracket to get it removed. It's not reused so that wasn't an issue just a hassle.

I had Firestone Air Bags with the onboard pump on our previous 07 Chevy 2500 HD truck and they were great, no need for them on our current 12 GMC 3500 HD DRW.

Airlift 5000 all the way for us. We use the wireless main controller with ours and works great
