Ah heck...

Well after my mishap with the furnace shutting off and freezing up my camper freezing well.... Everything! I have come to the only logical conclusion that I can think of to repair the damage done. Trade this RV in for a new one! What with the furnace not working at all, the hot water not working even on only propane, and my peace of mind completely gone.

I have looked into the 2014 models and like what I see then I was told that the 2015 will start being produced in February well mine as well wait awhile longer.

I have a few questions regarding my decision, from the information given to me by dealers and the redwood reps I couldn't see any HUGE difference. Is there anything I am missing in regards to the new models? If it makes a difference I am looking at the same floor plan the 38GK.

Also, is there any RV units out there at I hate to say it but... Put Redwood to shame or just overall better?

Thanks to all those that have been helping me out so much lately!

The main advantage of the new model of Redwoods is the extra storage in the rear cargo area and the new paint schemes. I don't think there's any other 5er out there that puts Redwood to shame. If you have the money....In my opinion the best is New Horizon but you'd better have a big truck and an equally big bank account to pull one. I would guess the 2 biggest competitors to Redwood are Mobil Suites and Lifestyle. I personally would buy another Redwood.

I have looked mainly at Redwood of course! Along with Mobile Suits and New Horizon and honestly I don't see what makes them so much better than redwood (according to the sales rep of the respective company). Of course they are trying to make a sale so any RV is going to be better than a competitors unit.

Have you looked at Excel? They are located in Smith Center, KS. I think Excel is one of the best 5th wheels made today.

We looked at the new Excels at the Tampa show today and were not impressed at all. We didn't get to the Mobile Suites, but did go through the New Horizons and thought it was at least equal and maybe a little above Redwood.
So were really didn't see anything that knocked our socks off, so I guess we stuck with our 36RL

If I had the coin I'd be all over a New Horizons. There's nothing that comes close, IMHO. Fit and finish is extraordinary. That being said, we love our FL and counting the days until our traditional Valentine's weekend trip.

Is there a website where I could go, to see the model changes?

2014 Model Year Updates was copied from a sheet given to me from our dealer, issued from Redwood.

They finally have a new brochure out and you can see some of the changes.

One option that was being shown at the rally was an electric reel for the power cord located on the side near the back of the coach. Don't know if that made it to the new models. I think that would be a nice option.

Many motorhomes already have that, and having fought the anaconda in 40 degree weather
I had an aftermarket one thrown into the deal....
they mounted it inside the basement above the 3rd battery
and love it....
Mine is hard wired into the system so I just pull out the plug, plug into the pedestal, and done - then push the button to retract !

but thinking the new 'trunk' in the back is a perfect place to mount one !

Very nice. If they offered somewhere out back where it didn't interfere with the basement, that would be dandy!

I would like to see them mount the power plug in in the middle of the coach. My neighbor has a 5er with that and he only needs a 30 foot cord.

Some of the Members on the Montana forum have added a Second connection at the front of their Montana. Since the power is on the front side of the forward basement bulkhead (at least with a genny or gen prep) it wouldn't be to hard.

That is easy to do. You can use a transfer switch to kill backfeed power to the rear plug when using the side plug.
