? about level up

Recently had the IS installed on my RW. In order to level the trailer with my truck they had to raise the trailer about 5 inches. My question is will that over extend the leveling system and can I adjust the stands by lowering them about the same amount that they raised the trailer. I guess what I should have said was there was 5 inches difference from front to back when hitched up to my truck. Also, those guys are good. When they got done it was within a 1/4 inch from front to back.

Greg you can lower the jacks. Not sure if you can gain 5" drop.a shortage of slack in the hydraulic hoses may limit you

Greg,
After I had the centerpoint system installed, I had to lower my jacks otherwise, I need to block them, which I didn't like! Some, I lowered as much as the hydraulic lines would allow.

BTW, the bolts came off easily using an impact wrench. We tried the 1st by hand with a cheater bar and galled the threads.

I'll check and see how much slack I have and go from there. Thanks for the reply.

I lowered my jacks after I had the IS installed.... the rears came down 2 holes ( 2 inches) , and the fronts came down 3 holes ( 3 inches )

I do not believe you will get 5”, I had a heck of a time getting 3 on the front...

The jacks themselves were very easy to move... Just used an electric inpac gun on them.....

I imagine you are right. I looked at mine and there doesn't appear to be that much slack in the lines. If you wanted more than that you would probably have to add extensions to the lines. Don't know if it's worth that.

There should be some slack in the lines. More than likely the hydraulic lines are zip tied to something to hold them out of the way. You might need to lower the underbelly and look to confirm this.

If the hydraulic lines are like the furnace ducts, water lines & the wiring those installers must've got paid by the foot, so may be there's an extra 25-30' tied up somewhere.

Watch your top clearance! Our Redwood was 13' 3" with factory suspension if I remember correctly.

I was going to make the same comment as Atom. Make sure you re-measure, especially if you heeded to the east coast. We've got a lot of underpasses that are less than 14'.

Sergio remeasured before we left Mor/Ryde. We are right on 13' 6" hooked up to the truck. They wouldn't do the IS if they couldn't get it 13' 6" or less. In fact I had to trade hitches at Dan's Hitch Service in order to create the necessary space to get it down to 13' 6".

Saw Sergio a few weeks ago when we were there to have maintenance done and the IS checked over (five years since doing it). I asked him when he was retiring and he told me that Gary Wheeler said he couldn't go until he trains at least two people as good as he is !! Quite a thorough craftsman and very proud of what he does. Justifiably so.
