Talked to Ron Howard today concerning some minor issues and during the conversation he stated that Lippert last week posted a fix on their website concerning the popping noises on their leveling system. He sent me a copy but I have not had a chance to try it yet. It involves removing a quart of fluid from the hydraulic reservoir and replacing it with a quart of anti-stiction fluid. 3 types are acceptable and Lippert shows a picture of all of them. Has anyone tried this fix yet? I can't say enough good things about Ron. He has always taken the time to explain things to me and answer all questions I present to him.

I heard ofthe fix from RV.net and the fella said he had done the fix. He said it reduced "most" of the popping, which migh mean it hasn't had a chance to mix, or it didn't work. Hopefully it does the trick.

The instructions lead you to believe that it may take several retractions and extensions to get the two fluids to mix. I was finally able to use my 31sl last weekend in Louisiana in 98 degree temps and thought that maybe the popping would not be heard but we still heard it. The time we used it before that it was in the 50's and we also heard it then. I know I'm not the only one that has experienced this so I hope this is a final fix. Other than that, we love our auto level!!!!

Send a message via AIM to NW Snowbirds
It is fork oil sold in most motorcycle shops.

On this trip my system hasn't "popped" at all even with all the heat but I'm going to try this fix to make sure.

Had our 36FB Redwood in the shop this last week with the front landing cylinders making a loud noise and vibration, while being extended and retracted, and the popping. They installed the Cat Hydraulic Oil Additive (purchase from any Cat Dealer Parts Store, $30 a Quart). It stopped the noise and vibration but haven had a chance to see if the popping has alsostopped.
