Wink 36RL verses 38RL

We are looking at buying either a 36rl or a 38rl to live in full time in the near future. Just waiting for our Canadian dollar to come up... Wondering what the main differences are between the two units? We have a 2012 Ram 1 ton heavy duty SRW to lead it around with.

Just be carefull, the RLs are about the heaviest on the pin of the RWs, ours goes approx 4K. Several of the members on here with a 36RL ended up changing TVs from almost new SRW to Duallies.
Back to your original question: We looked at changing from our 36RL to a 38RL, but overall there was so little difference didn't seem worth while, but instead we opt'd to move to the 39MB with the Butler's Pantry in place of the 1/2 Bath.

Why did you change from your 36RL?

We looked at both the 36rl and 38rl. We lucked on a used 38rl 2015 that the original owners could not handle and traded in after having only 3 months. Either one will make you happy we did not see much difference.

Shane - Our 5.5 handles everything without a problem
Dale & Tracey - We started looking because we wanted some of the newer upgrades, such as the Residential Fridge and Induction Cook Top, but after seeing such little difference between the 36RL & 38RL we started looking at other floor plans. We feel that the way RW laid out the 39MB gives us much more storage and better use of the available storage. I looked at all major brands with that floor plan and RW comes out head and shoulders above the others. One brand (very high end) puts the bedroom TV on a stand in the corner of the bedroom, which we thought was more like an entry level RV would have.

The main difference between the 36RL and 38RL is the 38RL has the King slide-in-a-slide as an option.

The 36RL with the slide-in-slide option is only available with a queen. If you want a king, no slide-in-slide.

Shane, I've never overloaded our 5500 Onan on this rig, so you should have no issues with that 6500. I even have HACR version which has the 30A and 20A instead of two 30As like Michelle and Ann.

Thanks guys and ladies
When I was looking to buy one I calculated the trailer load and it looked like it may not handle both ac units as well as the other items at the same time. I purchased the 6.5. Had I checked into it more I could have saved myself the extra money between the 2.

I bought mine back in 2003 when I only had a 30A coach and an extra circuit for a 2nd AC.

If I were to do it again, I probably would go with the 6500, as it just seems to meet the spec.
