36rl

I see that Redwood is no longer making the 36RE, but I'm not sure about the 36RL. I'm looking to buy a 36RL or a 31SL. Has anyone heard anything about the 36RL.

If they stopped making it, it would be because it was taken over by the 38RL, which is essentially the same layout but bigger.

That's what they did, replaced it with the 38RL

They haven't stopped making the 36RL but I haven't seen on their website the 36RE for a while. This could be an over site by someone. Redwood builds nice Rvs but they're not real good at website maintenance.

I agree with other on this forum and think Redwood should continue putting out some of the shorter trailers. However, I'm sure their sales numbers are going to dictate which trailers they'll keep building.

At this point, I'm loving this 36rl. It is head and shoulders above the Rushmore.

Guess that's the reason for the two new members of RW family, Cypress & the other one.

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking of the 36RL or 31SL because of the weight. The 38RL is very nice. A little heavy, unless you own a dually.

Be careful if you thinking about pulling the RL without a dually. I did for a month before I saw the light. No turning back now!

My RL came to me just shy of 14k and a heavy pin weight.

Our 36RL arrived at just over 14K and once loaded for long term travel we over 17K, thus the reasons for the upgrades we've added.

I don't know if you have a one ton single wheel, but even the 36rl is too heavy for a 3/4 ton. My 36rl came from the factory at 13,466 dry.

I have a 2011 Chevy 2500 gas, fifth wheel towing rating is 14,100. I found a 36RL with a weight of 13,300 dry. My truck is a work truck so all maintenance and fuel is paid for. Usually I just take weekend trip with my family but sometimes I use it if I'm on a long term job out of town. I have considered buying a 2015 GMC Denali 2500, Diesel, which has a tow rating of 17,000. It's nice being able to talk with people that have already done what I'm about to do. Maybe the 31SL is the way to go for me.

Hmm, downsize my trailer wish, or upsize the truck to a 2015 Denali dually.....

so what was the question?

Personally, I don't think there's a 3/4 ton around that will handle a Redwood.

Not safely. It will have plenty of power, but will most likely be over on cargo cap once you factor in passengers, hitch, and anythng else in the cab and bed. Depending on options and loaded, some RLs such as ours has a 4K plus pin weight.

Thanks to this site, because of one of the threads, I thought to run the washer, and look under my bed for leaks. Sure enough, there was a slight leak in a drain hose connection. Fixed today, run washer, and all is dry.

Sounds like to me alot of redwoods are overloaded, but I guess if you just get a drw it's ok. just my 2cents
