Has anyone claimed their Redwood as a second home on taxes?

My CPA recommended that the Redwood be claimed as a second home. Also claimed my previous Carriage unit as well.

I thought you could from a few articles on Google, thanks for the info., I already stopped paying State tax as of July 1, 2012 when I retired from the State. Every little bit counts.

According to the IRS stipulation, a 2nd home needs to have the following;
1. Kitchen
2. bathroom
3. Bedroom

As long as those three requirements are met, you can claim the INTEREST on the loan. (up to I believe 1mil).

Steve is correct. I'm no CPA, but unless you already own a 2nd home, the Redwood qualifies as one. I claimed mine.

We claimed our 36RL as a second home before we sold the house and had no problems.

Thanks everybody, I wasn't sure and there are others that needed to know as well. I will have 12 months on the 2013 taxes for sure.
