220v
Has anybody considered taking the 220v from the 50 amp side and wire it to the dryer, just a thought? You could wire in a relay so that when you only have 110v it wouldn't power the dryer. All the places we go have 50 amp available

Dan, RV dryers are 120 volts not 220. Also 50 amp service at the camp sites is not 220v it is two 110v lines at 50 amps each. The trailer could be damaged if you connected it to 220 volt....Ian

Dan,
I you are installing a 220V residential dryer, its pretty easy to configure a 220V outlet to these. I don't think you even need the relay, as 110V wont hurt the dyer, it just won't heat.

Why would you want to? Our RV dryer works just fine, just takes longer, but what's the rush & usually not paying for electricity anyway.

Our Sears 120 Volt RV Dryer works fine too, takes about a hour to dry, same time it takes the Maytag washer to complete a wash cycle.

Brad
That was what I figured, it would be easy to wire the 220, I can get a real good deal on a bosch w&d but its 220 now a 22 dryer is much more efficient than the 110 and again we are "sofar" only at 50 amp campgrounds and this unit(s) is much more larger/efficient than the "RV" units more decisions, I am very had to move, sometimes that's good sometimes oh well

This is an option in a DRV. It's pretty easy and safe to do as we're hooking up to 220v 50 amp every time we plug in.
