I agree, rather have the drawers. However, when I did away with that weird bed frame I noticed that there was a long narrow slot under there, so I put a floor in it & added a small door at the foot if the bed & viola nice place for bedding/towels.

We like the drawers too. But there is a huge space under the bed between the drawers that seems wasted.

That's the space I utilized & much easier to get to than raising the mattress. Had that in previous SOB & it took both of us to get under there, 1 to hold it up, the other to get whatever was under there, didn't take but once with it closed on my arm/head.

hmmm,
guess the previous experience lends us to different 'wants'
ours was a one handed lift - even with a heavy foam mattress and it stayed there... actually had to push down pretty hard to close it...
maybe ours had a stronger lifting force for the gas spring ???

easy enough to change as I had to do that for my heavy suv's liftgate

I agree, I had the lift up bed and remember having to get on my knees to lift the bed up and usually the wife had to hold the bed up and sometimes I had to crawl in to get something stored in the back. Not Baby Boomer Friendly!

Also when you lifted it, it pushed the mattress forward and untucked all the sheets and blankets which laid in your face when you tried to get something out of there

My biggest complaint however was it was so shallow it wouldn't accept linens well, mainly because of the hydraulics underneath for the slide (Montana). I think it was only 4 inches deep in most places. The drawers on the Redwood were like a pair of cargo containers after that I realize with Schwintek, the under bed storage may be substantially bigger.

Ah, that may have been part of it too -
our previous 5er had the schwintek for the bed too !

That's where we kept the vac cleaner stuff, linens, xtra pillows in bags, they even had a safe under there....

I can somewhat understand not offering a Mor Ryde product but can't understand why they won't offer the TrailAir Center Point, its made by LCI???

If this was offered as a package with 8k axles and Disc Brakes I'd seriously consider upgrading to a new one with all the bells and whistles including that fantastic Residential Fridge.

Thanks Travelin Texans for the access door idea at the foot of the bed. I just put in a door and floor today. I now have a nice 3 ft x 16 in storage space under the bed.

I agree with what was said about Mor Ryde may not be an option because of LCI. The decision to use the FIT on Redwood was made under the original management when Redwood was first being designed and built. Hopefully the current management will at least offer the Mor Ryde as an option.
