2011 36rl transfer switch

I am new to 5th wheels and last week we traded our 40 ft monaco MH in on this redwood 36rl. We are enjoying the transition and still trying to figure out how we acquired all this stuff. I have the 50 amp surge protector I had hard wired in the MH and want to install it on the 36rl. I can not find the ats. I have looked in the battery compartment and the compartment where a generator would go, but nothing. The threads on this forum show it around the batteries.

Any ideas?

Mine was located high up on the wall in the front compartment. Up above the generator housing.

Nothing up front except batteries, hydraulics and level up sensor. Checked basement also and nothing.

Sounds like mine, not generator prepped as advertised. If it's not up high in the front compartment, you don't have one.

You would have to intercept the incoming 50 amp somewhere. I doubt the rear of the RW would have any kind of room for it....how about where it comes into the fuse area/converter near the front door ??

Problem would be if you ever went with a generator, you would end up running a whole bunch more wire to the front and then install an ATS....

In the cabinet by the front door (coat closet), do you have a generator switch by your awning switches? if not, no gen prep option.

But, if you pull down the basement wall (towards rear), you'll see the back of the electrical panel that is located in the cabinet by the entry door. you can locate the surge anywhere in the basement and fish the remote readout up that wall into the area where your gen switch should have been. I assume you have the surge suppression with the remote readout.

My surge protector does have the display option but I didn't get it at the time I bought it as it was easy to just look at it when mounted in the MH. Your idea sounds like what I will have to do. I will just order the display kit and having in the closet will be perfect. Thanks

I got the progressive dynamics without the remote display, and later when I wanted it, it couldn't be retrofitted. Is that the one you got?

I suppose you could mount it to the basement wall so you could see if from there, but then it would be difficult to take down the wall to get in there.
